US, Phoenix: Avondale Pickup Crashes Into House After Shooting.

Phoenix, United States - August 08, 2026 08/07/2026 09:17 pm GMT-0700 AVONDALE, Ariz. – Avondale Police and the Avondale Fire Department, along with Maricopa Ambulance personnel, responded to reports of a shooting in the 11600 block of West Washington Street shortly after 9:15 p.m. Friday. Officers arrived and located a black GMC pickup truck that had crashed into a house at a high rate of speed. According to initial unconfirmed information gathered at the scene, the driver of the GMC was shot, causing them to accelerate into the house. An occupant of the house was reportedly struck by the GMC as it collided into the house. Both the driver and the occupant of the house were transported by Maricopa Ambulance medics and Avondale firefighters to a local area hospital in reportedly serious condition. Police located several shell casings on the sidewalk just north of the house on 116th Avenue. Officers began searching for the shooting suspect, utilizing the Peoria Police Department's Helicopter. It is currently unknown if the shooting suspect was ultimately located.
