US, Los Angeles: Long Beach Pursuit Vehicle Crashes Into CHP Officers.

Los Angeles, United States - July 14, 2026 07/14/2026 02:30 am GMT-0700 LONG BEACH, Calif. – A suspect in a reported stolen vehicle crashed into California Highway Patrol officers before switching vehicles and continuing to flee during an early-morning pursuit Tuesday. The pursuit began around 2:30 a.m. after California Highway Patrol officers and a helicopter began following the reported stolen vehicle. The driver traveled east on the 91 Freeway from the 110 Freeway toward Long Beach, repeatedly exiting and reentering the freeway while traveling in both directions. The vehicle later headed toward the northbound 710 Freeway split before continuing toward downtown Los Angeles and the 110 Freeway. During the original pursuit, the suspect vehicle crashed into California Highway Patrol officers beneath the 91 Freeway near Atlantic Avenue. At least one officer was evaluated by firefighters. The extent of any injuries was not immediately known. The suspect then got into the passenger seat of another vehicle, prompting a second pursuit which is still ongoing.
