US, Los Angeles: West Covina Driver Arrested at Friends House After Fleeing From CHP.

Los Angeles, United States - May 01, 2026 05/01/2026 01:19 am GMT-0700 WEST COVINA, Calif. – A sergeant from the California Highway Patrol's Baldwin Park station observed two vehicles racing westbound on the 10 Freeway at Citrus Avenue in West Covina. When the sergeant attempted to initiate a traffic stop on one of the vehicles, the driver did not comply and led officers on a pursuit onto surface streets in West Covina. After losing sight of the vehicle, the California Highway Patrol obtained a license plate number and followed up at the suspect's residence in La Puente. The suspect's mother informed officers that he was at a friend's house on North Orange Street in West Covina. Officers later took the suspect into custody at the friend's residence and located the vehicle a short distance away. A helicopter from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department assisted in locating the vehicle. CHP Dispatch reported that the suspect had multiple DUI priors and was driving on a suspended license at the time of the attempted traffic stop.
