US, Bakersfield: Bakersfield High Speed Major Injury Crash into Tree.

Bakersfield, United States - October 17, 2026 10/17/2026 12:28 am GMT-0700 BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – A single-vehicle traffic collision occurred early this morning on the southbound lanes of State Route 99 at the intersection with State Route 119. A white Toyota sedan, reportedly traveling at high speed, lost control after a tire blowout and collided with a tree on the off-ramp of SR 119. An eyewitness indicated that the vehicle may have been traveling at speeds over 100 mph before the crash. The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene shortly after the collision was reported. At 12:31 a.m., emergency personnel transported the driver to Kern Medical Center for treatment of major injuries. Authorities found debris from the vehicle surrounding the tree involved in the traffic collision. The traffic collision remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
