US, Phoenix: Chandler Small Plane Catches Fire After Crashing Into Parking Lot.

Phoenix, United States - July 29, 2026 07/28/2026 07:54 pm GMT-0700 CHANDLER, Ariz. – Firefighters from the cities of Chandler and Gilbert responded to reports of an aircraft down near the intersection of Hamilton Street and Queen Creek Road in Chandler shortly before 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. Firefighters arrived and located a Piper PA-28 Cherokee that crashed in the southwest corner of a commercial warehouse parking lot before catching on fire. According to ATC radio communications, the plane departed from the Chandler Municipal Airport before crashing shortly after. Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire. No information regarding the occupants of the plane or their conditions has been confirmed at the time of publication. Members of the Chandler Municipal Airport and FAA officials are on the scene of the crash, working to determine the cause.
