US, Los Angeles: Playa del Rey Female in Custody After Pursuit.

Los Angeles, United States - July 28, 2026 07/28/2026 01:00 am GMT-0700 PLAYA DEL REY, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies in Lakewood attempted to pull over a vehicle for running red lights and speeding, initiating a pursuit. The vehicle continued at high speeds westbound on the 105 Freeway, where the pursuit was taken over by the California Highway Patrol officers from East Los Angeles. The pursuit continued on the 105 Freeway before the vehicle turned onto Imperial Highway. California Highway Patrol officers successfully deployed spike strips, disabling the vehicle's tires. After turning north on Vista Del Mar from Imperial Highway, the driver lost a tire and came to a stop. She was taken into custody without further incident. During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered several bottles of alcohol and a nitrous tank. A female passenger was also detained.
