Tucson, United States - July 09, 2026 Video filmed by the Tucson Police Department shows three bystanders intervening during an attempted robbery involving a 70-year-old man with a walker. The footage shows a 34-year-old suspect following the elderly man into a Carl’s Jr. restaurant near Oracle Road and Prince Road, grabbing at the backpack attached to the walker and causing the victim to fall to the ground. During the struggle, three bystanders stepped in. The suspect dropped the bag and fled the scene. Witnesses provided officers with a description of the suspect and his direction of travel. Within minutes, officers located the suspect nearby and took him into custody. The suspect was booked into jail on a charge of attempted robbery. The victim sustained injuries and was treated at the scene.
