US, Bakersfield: Bakersfield Search and Rescue Assist Recovery of Car Submerged in Canal.

Bakersfield, United States - July 15, 2026 07/14/2026 10:23 PM GMT-0700 Bakersfield – Emergency responders were dispatched late this evening near Warwickshire Avenue and Madison Street after a report of a vehicle fully submerged underwater in a nearby canal. Kern County Search and Rescue arrived on the scene to determine if anyone was inside the vehicle and to prepare for its recovery. A heavy-duty tow truck successfully removed the vehicle from the water. It remains unclear if anyone was inside when the vehicle was submerged. Extensive damage was visible to the front of the vehicle upon its retrieval. The Bakersfield Police Department also managed the situation.
