US, Bakersfield: Bakersfield Child Locked Inside Vehicle, Window Broke Open.

Bakersfield, United States - August 29, 2026 08/28/2026 09:59 pm GMT-0700 Bakersfield – A child was rescued from inside a locked vehicle after reportedly sweating and showing signs of distress this evening in the parking lot of Valley Plaza Mall. The incident was reported around 9:17 p.m. The Bakersfield Police Department and Bakersfield Fire Department responded and attempted to get the child out of the vehicle. Crews ultimately broke the front passenger-side window to gain access and free the child. The child was evaluated by emergency personnel and was reported to be OK. The Bakersfield Police Department and Bakersfield Fire Department responded.
