US, Bakersfield: Bakersfield Pedestrian Injured in Hit-and-Run at FoodMaxx Parking Lot.

Bakersfield, United States - September 12, 2026 09/11/2026 11:44 pm GMT-0700 BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – A woman sustained moderate injuries after she was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision late this evening in the FoodMaxx parking lot in the 6400 block of Niles Street around 11:45 pm. Emergency crews arrived and found the woman lying in the middle of the parking lot. The vehicle involved had fled the scene. The vehicle also appeared to have possibly struck an elote cart, with debris from the cart scattered throughout the area. Family members later arrived, picked up the damaged cart and loaded it into the back of a truck before collecting debris from the parking lot. A large amount of fresh burnout marks was also visible in the parking lot. It is unknown whether the marks are connected to the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run. Medical personnel treated the woman before placing her on a stretcher and transporting her to a local hospital. The California Highway Patrol, Kern County Fire Department and Hall Ambulance responded. The California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
