Los Angeles, United States - July 17, 2026 07/17/2026 04:33 pm GMT-0700 Stevenson Ranch – A traffic collision in Stevenson Ranch Friday afternoon damaged multiple vehicles after witnesses reported two vehicles were allegedly street racing moments before the crash. The collision was reported at approximately 4:33 p.m. at the intersection of Hemingway Avenue and Burns Place. According to witnesses at the scene, two vehicles were seen traveling at a high rate of speed along Hemingway Avenue before one driver lost control. One of the vehicles struck a light pole and a fire hydrant, causing damage to both. The impact sent debris from the light pole into nearby vehicles, resulting in damage to several additional cars in the area. Water from the damaged hydrant also flooded portions of the roadway as emergency crews responded. Witnesses told authorities they observed the individual involved placing unknown items into nearby bushes before personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department and California Highway Patrol arrived. Authorities have not confirmed those claims, and it is unknown what, if anything, was placed there. Emergency crews evaluated those involved in the collision while the California Highway Patrol secured the scene and began their investigation. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, including whether street racing was a factor.
