US, Phoenix: Tempe Person In Serious Condition After Being Struck By Light Rail Train.

Phoenix, United States - July 05, 2026 07/05/2026 05:05 am GMT-0700 TEMPE, Ariz. – The Tempe Police Department is investigating after a pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a Valley Metro light rail train in Tempe. Police and fire crews responded shortly after 5:00 a.m. Sunday to the light rail tracks just north of Tempe Town Lake and located a pedestrian who was struck by the train on the bridge. Firefighters stabilized and extracted the patient from the tracks and transported them to a local area hospital in serious condition. Light rail operations are expected to be restricted for several hours along Tempe Town Lake as police investigate the incident.
