US, Phoenix: Tempe University Drive Canal Body Recovery.

Phoenix, United States - July 04, 2026 07/04/2026 12:32 am GMT-0700 TEMPE, Ariz. – Officers and firefighters from the cities of Tempe and Mesa responded to reports of a person in a canal shortly after 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning in the 2700 block of East University Drive. Upon arrival, responders located an unresponsive adult male in the canal, approximately 700 feet south of University Drive. The victim was retrieved from the canal and pronounced dead by fire personnel. The Tempe Police Department is handling the investigation, working to identify the victim and determine the circumstances that led to him being in the canal.
