Phoenix, United States - July 02, 2026 07/02/2026 01:52 am GMT-0700 PHOENIX, Ariz. – Around 1:52 p.m., the body of U.S. Forest Service firefighter Nick Hutcherson landed at the Deer Valley Airport at 700 West Deer Valley Road. 27-year-old Nick Hutcherson from Glendale, Arizona, 38-year-old Emily Barker from Michigan, and 26-year-old Sydney Watson from Alabama were battling the Knowles Fire in Colorado when they lost their lives on Saturday, June 27. Wildland firefighters from across Arizona and other state forestry services lined Deer Valley Road and North 7th Avenue to pay respects as Hutcherson's body was being transported to a funeral home in the Phoenix area.
