Ross, United States - October 01, 2026 A police officer was struck by a car while directing traffic for a school district homecoming parade on October 1. Body-camera footage shows the officer walking toward an intersection at Cincinnati-Brookville Road and Hamilton-Cleves Road when a red sedan turns across the lanes and reaches the officer. The camera drops as the car strikes the officer. Other officers in yellow vests immediately open the driver’s door and order the driver out. The driver, wearing a gray T-shirt, steps from the vehicle and is told to stand aside. A second camera at a nearby gas station shows the red sedan stopped near a Route 126 sign, with officers gathered beside it. The Ross Township Police Department said the 2010 Toyota sedan was westbound on Cincinnati-Brookville Road and attempted to turn south onto Hamilton-Cleves Road when it struck the officer in the northbound lanes. The officer was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Police said drug impairment is suspected. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
