Oct 7, 2026
Missouri, United States - September 15, 2026 A hero officer pulled a driver from a burning pickup moments before the truck later exploded on an interstate in Missouri. Dash-camera footage shows the white pickup stopped on the left shoulder beneath an overpass, fully engulfed in flames as thick black smoke rolls across the highway. Kansas City Police Detective Jason Findley was off duty when he spotted smoke coming from the truck while it was still moving. He followed the pickup, stopped and began pulling the driver away from the cab. Clay County Deputy Chase Blatt was driving in the opposite direction when he saw the smoke. He stopped, crossed the barrier and grabbed the driver’s other arm, helping pull him away from the burning vehicle. The 70-year-old driver was disoriented and had a pant leg on fire. He was taken to a hospital with serious burns to his legs. The 2018 Ford F-250 later exploded and was destroyed. A Missouri State Highway Patrol report said the truck had suffered a mechanical problem before catching fire.
