US, Bakersfield: Bakersfield Thick Vegetation Fire in Riverbed.

Bakersfield, United States - May 13, 2026 05/12/2026 09:58 pm GMT-0700 BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – A fire was reported last night in the riverbed near East Beardsley Avenue. Multiple units from the Kern County Fire Department and the Bakersfield Fire Department responded to the vegetation fire involving heavy brush. The fire spread over an unknown number of acres. Firefighters performed backburns to successfully contain the fire within the heavy brush. Due to the thick vegetation, crews utilized chainsaws to gain access to the affected area. The Kern County Fire Department and Bakersfield Fire Department assisted on scene.
