US, Bakersfield: Bakersfield Vegetation Fire on Bluffs Contained.

Bakersfield, United States - June 24, 2026 06/24/2026 02:03 am GMT-0700 BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Firefighters battled a vegetation fire this morning on the bluffs along Panorama Drive around 2:03 a.m. The blaze consumed brush on the hillside, prompting crews to contain its spread. As flames advanced toward heavier vegetation at the bottom of the bluff, additional resources were requested to assist in firefighting efforts. Fire crews were observed hiking down the hillside to apply water directly to the fire line. Other firefighters approached from the base of the bluff to help contain the fire from multiple angles. By 3:15 a.m., the fire was extinguished, but crews remained on scene to monitor hot spots and prevent the fire from reigniting. The extent of the burned area remains unclear. Units from the Bakersfield Fire Department and the Kern County Fire Department responded to the incident.
