US, Bakersfield: Bakersfield Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Crosswalk With Sound On Tape Part 2.

Bakersfield, United States - October 05, 2026 10/04/2026 08:51 pm GMT-0700 BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The California Highway Patrol, Kern County Fire Department, and Hall Ambulance were dispatched to the intersection of Airport Drive and El Tejon Avenue in Bakersfield for reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, first responders found a 14-year-old girl receiving CPR from local good Samaritans. Tragically, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed that the pedestrian had been using the crosswalk and had activated the crosswalk lights at the time of the incident. However, the driver of the vehicle failed to yield to the crosswalk for reasons that are currently unknown. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. They were transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
