US, Phoenix: Tempe Teenager Shot Outside In-N-Out.

Phoenix, United States - September 20, 2026 09/20/2026 12:17 am GMT-0700 TEMPE, Ariz. – Shortly after 12:15 p.m. Sunday, the Tempe Police Department and firefighters from the cities of Tempe and Phoenix responded to the In-N-Out located on the south side of the intersection of South Calle Los Cerros and Baseline Road after a person was shot. Police and firefighters arrived and located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest near a vehicle at the front entrance to the In-N-Out. According to a Tempe police official at the scene, the victim is a 17-year-old male. According to initial unconfirmed information gathered at the scene, the victim was transported in serious but stable condition to a nearby trauma hospital. One person was seen being detained by officers as he was placed in handcuffs. The individual's relationship to the shooting has not been confirmed. Officers created a large crime scene surrounding the In-N-Out, focusing their investigation on the cars near the entrance. An additional car was located at the entrance to a nearby business plaza just east of the shooting scene.
