US, Los Angeles: Whittier Cargo Theft of Nike Shoes worth Thousands of Dollars.

Los Angeles, United States - September 24, 2026 09/24/2026 02:40 am GMT-0700 WHITTIER, Calif. – The California Highway Patrol from the Santa Fe Springs station responded this evening to assist railroad police and security officials after they observed six suspects on security cameras throwing boxes off a train near Peck Road and Workman Mills Road, just east of the 605 Freeway. Railroad police and security were able to recover the stolen property, though it remains unclear if any of the suspects were detained. According to a security guard, who spoke off-camera, the value of the items on the train could amount to thousands of dollars if the theft had been successful. However, it is currently unknown whether any merchandise was taken by the suspects.
