US, Bakersfield: Bakersfield Person And Cats Rescued From House Fire.

Bakersfield, United States - August 03, 2026 08/02/2026 10:10 pm GMT-0700 Bakersfield – One person and two cats were rescued from a house fire Sunday in the 2800 block of Hines Avenue just after 10 p.m., according to initial unconfirmed information gathered at the scene. The fire was reported inside a bedroom when Bakersfield Fire Department crews arrived. One person was reportedly pulled from the residence and transported to a hospital with unknown injuries. Firefighters also carried two cats from the home and provided them with oxygen and water at the scene. It was not immediately known whether any other animals remained inside. The cats were later taken in by Rickshaw Neil, a well-known local figure and longtime fixture in downtown Bakersfield who possibly knows the resident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
