So just when you thought ChatGPT was ready to use Microsoft's $10 billion to take over
0:05
the world, news broke earlier today that Google might just be ready to fight back against
0:10
OpenAI's chatbot. How? Find out in one moment. But before we get there, feel free to subscribe to my YouTube channel where each week I'll
0:19
be uploading new videos on a variety of different topics. Okay, so a number of different news outlets are reporting that Google is set to launch
0:29
its competitor to ChatGPT. The name of the Google chatbot is called Sparrow which was developed by a London-based company
0:37
named DeepMind which Google acquired in 2014 for $500 million. DeepMind founder and CEO Demi Hassabis announced that a version of Sparrow would go into private
0:51
beta later this year. Google's hope is that Sparrow will be better and more accurate than ChatGPT as it's been
0:57
trained with human feedback and unlike ChatGPT, Sparrow also has access to the internet providing
1:05
it with lots of training data and accurate information. So Google's hope is that Sparrow would outperform ChatGPT
1:14
But there's also concern that it could disrupt highly successful parts of the company, namely Search
1:19
Google makes a lot of money with Search and if they were to integrate this new chatbot
1:25
there's no telling whether it would be more profitable than their current system
1:30
Sparrow is expected to launch in beta later this year and we'll have to see what Google's
1:34
plans are to monetize. So keep an eye open for Google's attempt to respond to OpenAI's ChatGPT
1:43
It looks like things are just getting started. Thank you so much for watching this video
