Daymond John's 'Little Daymond Learns to Earn' teaches kids financial intelligence | SWAY’S UNIVERSE
Mar 25, 2023
Kids are never too young to learn about money and finance! This is the message that FUBU founder and CEO, Daymond John, hopes to promote through his newest children's book, 'Little Daymond Learns to Earn.' Daymond recently appeared on Sway In The Morning to discuss his book, and during his promotion tour, he also shared his secrets for health and wellness. Read on to learn more about Daymond's mission to impart financial intelligence to children.
Daymond's book, 'Little Daymond Learns to Earn,' is a fun and engaging way to teach kids about the value of money, how to budget, save, and spend wisely. The book follows the journey of Little Daymond, a young boy with a big dream to buy a new bike. Through his experiences and challenges along the way, Little Daymond learns the importance of hard work, persistence, and smart money management.
During his appearance on Sway In The Morning, Daymond talked about his own early struggles with finances. He shared how he grew up in a single-parent household, and how he had to hustle and work multiple jobs to make ends meet. Daymond's experiences shaped his mindset and work ethic, which eventually led him to founding FUBU and becoming a successful entrepreneur.
Daymond's advocacy for financial literacy extends beyond his book. He also founded the Shark Group, a consulting firm that helps small business owners grow and succeed. In addition, Daymond is an advocate for health and wellness, and he recently shared his personal journey to losing over 30 pounds and getting in shape. Daymond emphasizes the importance of taking care of oneself, both in terms of physical health and financial well-being.
The importance of financial literacy cannot be overstated, especially in today's economy where financial decisions can have long-term consequences. Children who are taught about money management from an early age are more likely to develop good habits and make responsible financial decisions later in life. By teaching kids about budgeting, saving, and investing, we can help them achieve their goals and build a secure financial future.
Daymond John's 'Little Daymond Learns to Earn' is a great resource for parents and educators who want to teach kids about financial intelligence. By using relatable stories and fun illustrations, Daymond's book provides valuable lessons that kids can apply in their own lives. More importantly, Daymond's advocacy for financial literacy serves as a reminder of the importance of instilling good money habits in our children. By investing in their financial education, we are setting them up for success and helping them achieve their dreams.

first of all citizens when you see him
0:01
he's transformed he looks 10 to 15 years
0:05
younger I haven't seen you in a minute
0:07
and you look chiseled right now what
0:10
happened d
0:11
I uh you know like I was you heard me on
0:13
there saying we all know what we need to
0:15
do we're just not willing to do it and I
0:17
always talk about these setting goals uh
0:19
but you know for about six years I went
0:21
through a couple I mean people go
0:22
through you know life happens I went
0:24
through cancer and just had a baby and
0:27
you know you have a baby you know you're
0:29
eating everything your wife's eating you
0:30
know what I mean so
0:32
um a little pandemic a couple of things
0:34
happen and uh but I lost the the pounds
0:37
I just stopped drinking stop drinking
0:39
you hear that Heather thing that's Damon
0:42
yeah
0:44
I'm the happy hour you know you know
0:47
when you evaluate yourself when you
0:49
re-evaluate yourself you know the devil
0:51
doesn't slip in your life and just come
0:52
and give you full Temptation the devil
0:54
goes something like now you can have
0:55
that one drink and ain't gonna send this
0:57
and this and when you make appointments
1:00
right we all when we all say like we're
1:01
going to Jamaica we're like man soon we
1:03
land I'm gonna get that double b that
1:04
pina colada with a double shot or
1:06
whatever you never let yourself down
1:08
when you when you're saying that when
1:10
you say you're gonna get your ass up to
1:11
the gym
1:12
oh you let yourself down a lot so when I
1:15
stopped drinking what I realized is 70
1:16
every every every shot is 75 calories
1:19
empty calories to slow down your
1:20
metabolism I go back to the hotel I wake
1:23
up in the morning I think a goddamn dog
1:24
got into the garbage because I ate the
1:27
whole refrigerator yeah and then I don't
1:29
want to work out in the morning and
1:30
instead of something healthy to eat I
1:32
want to pastrami I just had a pastrami
1:34
and cheese sandwich but you know I want
1:36
something healthy I mean I want
1:37
something heavy and it just keeps going
1:41
and keeps going and keeps going but when
1:43
you stop
1:44
you know and I don't got nothing I got
1:46
no issue with anybody who drink because
1:47
many of us who were like Road Warriors
1:50
yeah man I had to go to three dinners a
1:52
night and two with people I ain't like
1:53
two customers I ain't like so I had to
1:55
drink and one I love to remember what
1:57
was going on
1:59
yo how do you parallel that uh
2:01
philosophy to how you lost weight and
2:04
how people
2:05
um fight Temptations to how we spend
2:07
money
2:08
well because it's it's constantly re
2:10
it's constantly taking new inventory you
2:13
know the biggest question I'm asked is
2:15
time and and work life balance and
2:17
there's no one work like balance you
2:19
have to you have to take inventory every
2:22
two months or three months and then what
2:24
I started to do was and it's time
2:26
efficiency so we want this world to zoom
2:29
now people are prone to like yo let's go
2:32
to the zoom well I said I'm not doing
2:34
any Zoom I'll do an audio but I'm not
2:35
doing any zooms from eight to one to one
2:38
o'clock in the afternoon so I take my
2:40
little girl to school and when I drop
2:42
off at school you know I live in Miami I
2:44
walk 10 miles but I I do my calls I just
2:48
don't need to be on Zoom right and
2:50
before I know and I walk slow chilling
2:52
out
2:53
and before I know it I put 10 miles I
2:55
put I put 30 000 steps on my on my uh
2:57
wow and I'm doing the same thing I'm
3:00
still making the same call they're not
3:01
on Zoom and you're getting the workout
3:03
in yeah so you're just
3:05
adjustingly right so if I know that I
3:07
got a flight and I know that I've slept
3:09
enough well I'm not going to be doing
3:11
emails or calls you know during that I'm
3:14
gonna do them on the flight right and
3:15
then they're gonna shoot out once I land
3:17
instead of taking that valuable time
3:19
when maybe I can go home and cook
3:21
something or maybe I can uh work out or
3:23
maybe I can just you spend time with my
3:25
daughter and and do the things that I I
3:27
can do physically only certain things
3:30
that I can do right there and then I'll
3:31
I'll substitute other stuff on a plane
3:33
dammit John is here man we're talking
3:35
about little Damon learns to earn yeah
3:37
we did our uh weekly sway chats where we
3:41
people pitch us ideas inventions
3:43
businesses the whole nine and Tracy came
3:46
up with this cool idea yeah I was like
3:48
this is a rare occasion where we have
3:50
the shark himself a business Mogul you
3:53
know to the max Damon John and we're
3:56
doing nah not at all you meet every
3:58
expectation and so we said okay suede
4:01
chats is where we have our citizens
4:02
pitch their business ideas give us the
4:04
full breakdown details premise and the
4:08
vision and so we made this one a
4:09
competition and we actually have our
4:12
winner Janine on the line all right
4:14
major business straight to you Damon
4:18
Janine you ready how you doing
4:20
I'm doing well thank you so much are you
4:22
nervous
4:23
a little nervous but I'm ready all right
4:26
Janine how you doing you ready to rock
4:28
oh well thank you yeah all right let's
4:30
hear it
4:32
so then well Studio a little bit about
4:34
me I am a nurse I have a community
4:36
health and public health background and
4:39
I primarily work with underserved
4:40
populations high risk and vulnerable
4:43
populations in the DC area thank you for
4:45
that um yeah sure I recently branched
4:48
off and decided to open up my own and
4:51
start my own holistic health and
4:52
wellness business so I'm dedicated to
4:55
providing an inclusive atmosphere or
4:58
Haven to provide our communities with
5:00
the essential tools necessary to promote
5:03
their healing of the Mind Body and Soul
5:05
a lot of times what I've found in the
5:07
clinical setting is that especially in
5:10
our community in the African-American
5:11
Community we are faced with a lot of
5:14
different
5:15
um comorbidities and chronic diseases
5:17
that some others don't face a lot of
5:20
times we lack the knowledge and
5:21
education on how to prevent and also
5:24
manage and treat the rehabilitation of
5:26
those chronic diseases in addition to
5:28
other different types of mental and
5:31
emotional health well-being Services got
5:33
it um so I curate personal Soul Care
5:37
sessions with my services such as health
5:39
and wellness activation coaching
5:41
biometric screening laser skin care IV
5:45
hydration and somatic therapy for
5:48
movements such as yoga and pilates sound
5:51
healing and guided meditation got it
5:53
okay and what is the question
5:55
first of all it sounds great okay that's
5:57
what we wanted to kind of guess for sure
5:58
you'd ask the questions
6:00
this is our little mini Shark Tank
6:02
what's the question uh you know the oh
6:04
because it sounds like what do you think
6:06
of her pitch well I don't know what the
6:08
well I think it's great okay right of uh
6:12
I would need to know you have it open
6:14
already
6:17
um so I I am open I am currently looking
6:20
for actual physical space but I do
6:22
provide services virtually and also
6:24
mobile concierge as well well it sounds
6:26
great I mean we're we're at a time where
6:28
it's not as much of astigmatism about
6:29
you know mental health and and thank god
6:32
um you know and we will the entire world
6:34
has one common thing we all went through
6:35
something extremely extremely
6:37
challenging a little while ago so
6:39
um that that's great and of course you
6:42
know chronic things such as uh you know
6:44
high blood pressure you know uh you know
6:46
and uh you know heart disease and and
6:48
diabetes and all those things are
6:50
rampant in our community because it's a
6:52
financial challenge too because you see
6:55
um the cheapest things in this country
6:57
to sell are the most uh are the most uh
7:00
absorbed things so the cheapest things
7:02
to sell are sugar
7:04
um butter and salt and those are the
7:06
cheapest to sell and so it costs more to
7:10
um to eat healthy uh plus uh you know
7:13
our nutrition when I grew up there was a
7:16
thousand McDonald's a thousand Wendy's
7:19
there's fourteen thousand of all of
7:20
those so we have a poor uh we have poor
7:23
nutrition uh now um and that starts
7:26
really at the home where you know kids
7:28
love to cook with their parents uh you
7:30
know especially when a five-year-old and
7:32
and if a five-year-old learned that they
7:34
can cook some stuff with their parents
7:35
now you got three days of healthy
7:36
leftovers but um we all know that exists
7:39
so you already have a problem that you
7:42
know that exists how are you going to
7:44
monetize uh serving that community and
7:48
solving that problem
7:50
um and so that's where I'm at at this
7:51
point I'm providing
7:53
um you know Educational Services and
7:55
collaborating with local businesses here
7:57
in my area to kind of get the word out
7:59
um and increase some some visibility and
8:01
recognition for my business and the
8:03
services I provide
8:04
um doing pop-up events also just
8:07
networking with my friends my current
8:08
base you know my current um patients
8:10
that I serve well I think here's the
8:12
best way to do it you know the um ever
8:14
since George Floyd there's a lot of
8:15
mandatory money going within companies
8:17
to address some of these matters
8:20
um and a local business has to obviously
8:21
keep the lights on but the uh the
8:25
national businesses who have a lot of
8:27
money they have a challenge too they
8:29
want their people to be healthy their
8:31
people are not necessarily all going
8:32
into the office but they probably would
8:35
benefit off of this service saying you
8:38
know what let me just add it as
8:40
something additional to our you know
8:43
family our Corporation and let me and
8:47
and if you are you uh MBD a minority are
8:50
you certified a vendor
8:53
I'm currently in the process of doing
8:55
that yep so make sure make sure you're
8:57
that because then you fit under uh women
9:00
owned as well as uh uh minority owned
9:04
but just make sure no other partner has
9:06
more than 10 or 15 because if you do
9:08
then they need to get the financials to
9:10
that other partner all their business
9:12
and then I I say you just go out and
9:14
start pitching and you might even do it
9:15
now and just say what do you think about
9:17
this idea because when you ask people
9:19
for their advice what are they going to
9:20
do they're going to give you money oh
9:21
I'll give you money if you do this and
9:23
make them feel like it's their idea
9:25
all right Janine congratulations
9:28
you are now officially a shark that's
9:31
right all right she was always a shark
9:34
she's saving lives okay hey
9:36
congratulations Janine keep us updated
9:38
on the progress of your business say the
9:40
name of it again
9:42
well Studio
9:45
congratulations have a beautiful day
9:48
Damon John is with us um and we're
9:50
celebrating his book little Damon learns
9:53
to number one book in the club
9:56
America has spoken we need financial
10:00
intelligence and financial literacy for
10:02
our children when does it start well
10:04
about the book
10:05
okay okay we're about to talk about the
10:07
book okay he got the what Top Hat is
10:09
this bro this is like straight out of
10:11
the magic 20 series
10:15
well I throw in the top hat whenever I'm
10:18
talking about this because the kids
10:18
don't care about my ten thousand dollar
10:20
Tom Ford suits wow
10:27
but when I wear this uh hat on you know
10:29
and I show and I talk to the kids I I
10:32
get down just like a customer I I meet
10:34
them where they're at and they go are
10:35
you going to teach me magic yeah
10:37
I'm gonna show you how to disappear out
10:38
of your parents house by 21 years old
10:40
I'm going to show you how to turn one
10:41
dollar into three dollars I'm gonna show
10:42
you how to uh make a lot of people
10:45
appear around you and you can hang out
10:47
with whoever you want whenever you want
10:48
because I'm going to teach you the
10:49
fundamentals of success and or how to
10:51
operate money when you're five and six
10:53
and seven eight nine and ten so you
10:55
don't take a four to seven hundred
10:57
thousand dollar student debt loan of a
11:00
career not even sure you want to have
11:01
and then they're paying that off by the
11:03
time is 60 years old and having
11:05
Financial challenges in your house where
11:06
there is domestic violence and various
11:09
other things because you bought into a
11:11
system that's really
11:13
80 years old when we were we were
11:15
building ships for war they were trying
11:17
to teach you how to be a great employee
11:19
and so that's what I'm doing right now
11:21
you say that to a five-year-old yeah
11:23
yeah I just basically say I'm gonna pull
11:25
some things out of this hat and then
11:26
they go okay what is it and then I show
11:28
them how to be almost like The Avengers
11:31
right so I want you to think of the
11:33
Avengers you know they were fighting
11:34
Thanos but the Avengers of your friends
11:36
and they're all going to get together
11:37
and you're gonna all do things that you
11:39
love and have a good time and you may
11:41
get paid to do that so you may get
11:44
Freedom which is money and money is
11:46
something that can help you give the
11:48
charitable organizations take time off
11:50
buy the things you want for the people
11:52
you love what's the first thing like I'm
11:54
talking to a five-year-old what's the
11:56
first thing I introduced to them when it
11:58
comes to finances you first you
12:00
introduce the one two three method okay
12:03
so and and so so by the way this is
12:05
about parents connecting with children
12:08
okay at a young age you know I've
12:10
written you know thank God uh with your
12:12
help to execute them I've written a lot
12:15
of New York Times best-selling books and
12:17
a lot of parents
12:18
um they may I don't want to be an
12:20
entrepreneur I'm stuck in my ways I'm
12:22
too much in debt I wish I would have
12:24
known that but a child does not like
12:25
that your child's mind is open I read
12:28
Catcher in The Riot one time when I was
12:30
in school I said why the hell did I read
12:31
this but a child five to ten they want
12:34
you to read this every week every month
12:36
right so what's the first thing the the
12:38
one two three so when three dollars
12:40
comes into any home anybody's hand three
12:43
dollars three
12:45
here's how it's really supposed to
12:47
operate the first dollar goes to what
12:50
you have to pay right whatever it is
12:52
right your your bills your what are the
12:54
cases the second island is important
12:55
goes to invest now invest may be some
12:58
form of a education or buying Apple
13:01
which is 30 off right now you know it's
13:02
never gonna go away so you make 30 of
13:05
your money in another year if it just
13:06
goes back or whatever the case is and
13:09
then number three is you you spend on
13:11
what you would like to have but don't
13:12
have to have and if you don't buy the
13:13
whole thing you put that back in number
13:14
two sooner or later two starts filling
13:16
into one and three but what really
13:19
happens as Americans we work really hard
13:21
so what do we want to do when we get our
13:23
money we want to treat ourselves
13:25
we we put number three first okay we go
13:28
and buy things to treat ourselves all
13:30
right we never get to number two and
13:32
then one starts running late or or we're
13:35
short on that so then we take loans at
13:37
18
13:38
and borrow money and that corrodes the
13:42
whole number one and then you turn
13:45
around and say why don't I have enough
13:48
money because you didn't make these
13:49
small adjustments and I get it because I
13:51
almost went bankrupt twice when I had no
13:53
money and bankrupt once when I had 10
13:56
million in the bank so it's nobody's
13:58
fault here when they're saying man I
14:00
don't know about money we would never
14:02
taught money okay
14:04
and that's what you could teach uh I can
14:06
tell you exactly what I do with my
14:07
daughter uh to the T-shirt about that
14:10
yeah but I'll give you one thing that
14:11
people could take away right now it's
14:12
not even the book so uh my godson
14:15
uh when I buy him gifts you know how to
14:17
buy from Christmas and maybe whatever
14:18
his birthday he likes trucks so I'm
14:20
gonna I buy him a little Tonka type of
14:22
truck but I buy him simultaneously one
14:25
share in caterpillar and I take a
14:27
picture with him in the truck and the
14:29
caterpillar chair now if I just got in
14:31
the caterpillar he's seven years old
14:32
he's looking like that was this yeah
14:35
10 years in you know what happens you
14:37
have 20 30 shares of companies you have
14:39
20 30 toys and pictures you say how much
14:42
are the toys worth I don't know I got
14:43
rid of half of them they're not worth
14:45
anything how much the shares worth
14:46
ten thousand dollars
14:48
and so that you start to it's the
14:50
process the kids start to learn and we
14:53
need to teach that and teach the parents
14:55
together uh and they learn together with
14:57
a simple thing I like to say there's no
14:59
book out there like this at all and I'm
15:01
shocked it's little Damon learns to earn
15:03
there you go and we got him right we got
15:05
a little Damon with us right now
15:08
how long did it take you Damon to do the
15:10
book from beginning to end like was this
15:12
years in the making or it was you know
15:15
because I first of all I think it was 30
15:17
years in the making my two oldest
15:18
daughters are great girls they don't
15:20
have as much Financial intelligence as I
15:21
would like for them to have and I I was
15:24
teaching them something but I was
15:25
teaching them it the wrong way I used to
15:27
say Hey you want a car you go out you
15:29
make money I'll match it I thought that
15:31
was Financial intelligence no I was
15:33
teaching them a good work ethic but I
15:36
wasn't teaching Financial intelligence
15:37
and if you look at it and we know from
15:39
the power broke that uh 65 of a lot of
15:42
winners and athletes are bankrupt three
15:44
years after leaving the legal winning
15:45
the lotto so I've been working on it all
15:48
the years and I started to speak to
15:50
Educators and our Educators were saying
15:53
I don't know what good debt bad debt is
15:56
I don't know I don't have Financial
15:57
intelligence because those amazing
15:59
educators of ours they know everything
16:01
about science they know everything about
16:03
history they know everything about a lot
16:05
of specific subjects but they just don't
16:08
have Financial intelligence and it's not
16:11
like our assistant this is not a setup
16:13
our system when you go to college they
16:16
have Finance classes but they're not
16:18
teaching us young enough so you think
16:20
about it I always say these great men
16:21
and women who serve our country and they
16:23
go into the Navy do you put them on the
16:25
boat take them out and send them out to
16:26
war and don't teach them how to swim
16:28
until they're in the middle of the ocean
16:29
fighting a war you prepare them right
16:32
you prepare everybody so why are you not
16:34
preparing a child and then giving them
16:37
Finance after they already have this
16:39
because they want you to get into that
16:41
day
16:44
all those colleges have CFOs all those
16:48
uh you know and I'm not saying listen if
16:50
they're going to take credit from people
16:51
for for cars or whatever the cases you
16:54
want to be in debt then take it for an
16:55
education please you know what I mean
16:57
crazy that is such a good point for when
17:01
um you get into see these classes when
17:03
you're in like college because if it
17:05
seems so Advanced and intimidating which
17:08
is why a lot of people end up not taking
17:10
it I appreciate you mentioning that
17:12
um we've all heard when folks say oh
17:15
money is the root of all evil and then
17:17
often a reply is money just enhances who
17:19
you already are you know and so somebody
17:21
who's yeah I mean you don't think Kevin
17:22
O'Leary was going to be a bad guy if he
17:24
was broke
17:26
don't do that man he's been on the
17:30
shower
17:31
[Music]
17:32
Davis has been a nice guy ever since he
17:35
came home from jail I mean
17:38
the shots inspired but that quote came
17:41
to my table when he was saying like one
17:43
of the suggestions for the little kid is
17:45
you know you could use your money for a
17:46
philanthropic efforts like how much does
17:50
not only teaching a child Financial
17:53
intelligence go with also teaching them
17:55
emotional intelligence so that they can
17:58
be braided and you have a good person
18:00
who wants to do good things with their
18:01
money because a lot of people just want
18:03
to use their money on themselves
18:05
yes so I think that we cover that in the
18:07
book in a sense and I'll tell you why
18:09
because little Damon who wants to make
18:11
some money to buy something he doesn't
18:12
have enough uh and he opens a business
18:14
and it fails
18:16
and then he finds out his mother says
18:19
well to buy you know to get the business
18:20
to work or what do you need to do shout
18:22
out to little Damon right there
18:24
um
18:24
little Damon finds out he needs his
18:27
friend he goes you can sing You Can
18:28
Dance you can draw you can do this and
18:29
that and then they open up the business
18:31
they get the business going and they
18:33
make money now what happens when they
18:34
make the money just little Damon doesn't
18:36
make the money the one who can play in
18:38
harmonica well she makes enough money to
18:40
go home and buy a trumpet you know the
18:43
one who can do this go and you you
18:44
realize that first of all it's a team
18:46
sport yeah second of all you always need
18:48
to respect others who are working with
18:51
you and be as much value with them and
18:56
so who's your cut everybody's your
18:58
customer and at the end of the day you
19:00
want to give and it teaches you to work
19:02
in that system and appreciate everybody
19:04
for the individuality if I pay my
19:07
employee that's not my business what
19:09
they go and use their money for it is
19:12
their will and their wish and that's why
19:14
we're in a country that allows you to
19:17
have that freedom yes right so yes and I
19:20
and I and I do teach that in other forms
19:22
but so this is going to be my life
19:25
Legacy not this book this Mission okay
19:28
so so
19:30
here's my mission right now I want my
19:32
little girls when when I'm in the dirt I
19:34
want them to say my father sparked the
19:36
conversation in the country and he did
19:39
so well with getting thing kids and
19:42
parents to connect on financial
19:44
intelligence that other celebrities
19:47
other large organizations everybody else
19:50
they started saying why is why is the
19:52
New York school system doing so much
19:54
better and the kids are not as much debt
19:55
what are you doing in Atlanta what are
19:57
you doing Missouri what and I want by
19:58
the time I leave this planet right I
20:01
want them to say the narrative was
20:03
changed because this young man who's
20:05
dyslexic who didn't go to college who
20:08
got left back who didn't know anybody he
20:11
changed the system that was broken and
20:15
it became I don't care if it became fly
20:17
became a trend whatever it is but
20:19
America has voted this is the number one
20:21
book in the country because America said
20:23
this is needed and I want other people
20:25
to compete with me
20:27
let me highlight them I don't care what
20:29
it is
20:31
[Applause]
20:38
you know I've been putting him in in
20:40
Crazy places and I've been doing this
20:42
voiceover uh voiceover of oh when I'm
20:44
successful this is what I think I'm
20:46
gonna be and it may be in front of a hot
20:48
chocolate machine you know what I mean
20:51
um because our kids listen when our kids
20:52
when our kids take this information and
20:54
start processing it so imagine you say
20:55
to your kids you know what you say to
20:57
kids when they lie
20:58
remember what happened to Bro the boy
21:00
who cried wolf yeah right you have an
21:02
easy reference so when kids want
21:04
something you go what a little Damon and
21:07
his crew do
21:10
that's smart that's a good Christmas
21:12
gift I like Joel is on the line from
21:14
Arizona go ahead Joelle I love that name
21:16
Jarrell yeah man's pops yeah
21:20
yeah hi how you doing long time
21:22
listening thank you sir you got a
21:24
question
21:26
you have a question for Damon so I'm
21:28
here in Arizona
21:34
um and we're actually trying to save
21:36
actually help families with learning how
21:39
to be uh changing the employee mindset
21:42
to entrepreneurs that
21:45
um people are today are just so wrapped
21:47
up and clocking in and clocking out
21:50
and saving money and spending the money
21:53
not knowing how to invest their money so
21:56
here an art company in my business we're
21:59
teaching people how to invest their
22:01
money into Insurance places where you
22:04
could build your money
22:05
um without having to put into stocks
22:07
putting it into places where the money
22:10
starts to go with the economy itself
22:13
right now I was starting to
22:15
um what's your question yep
22:19
oh so my question is as an entrepreneur
22:22
how can you
22:24
create leads and create to where
22:28
I'm so I'm I'm you know take your time
22:31
bro okay he just hung up he just he just
22:33
imploded
22:37
he left good talking to you what you're
22:40
going to say to him huh yeah he laughed
22:43
he employed Michelle give me a quick
22:45
question
22:47
just a question Michelle
22:54
all right go ahead Michelle
22:57
how do you
22:59
Still Circle
23:01
I guess education back into financial
23:04
literacy
23:07
um
23:07
especially dealing with teenagers who
23:09
have access to everything that they're
23:12
saying to
23:13
my 16 year old has now made the
23:16
conscious decisions we couldn't teach
23:18
him anything he and it's kind of my
23:20
fault I'm trying to pump financial
23:22
literacy into him at a young age and
23:25
kind of what you were saying how you
23:27
know don't go out and get all this
23:28
school debt and just be stuck working a
23:31
dead-end job paying our bet
23:34
he's into crypto he's been starting his
23:36
own LLC and he's teaching himself what
23:40
he wants to learn about business when
23:43
he's 16 and then high school and now
23:46
it's saying you know four of us don't
23:48
teach you nothing man so he doesn't want
23:50
to do any other thing besides make money
23:53
he don't learn about history English
23:55
yeah social social studies that sort of
23:58
thing okay
24:01
so you're asking me how I I'm I'm not
24:05
clear on so what's your question shell
24:07
so the question is so okay we want to be
24:11
friends we want our kids to be you know
24:14
like half this financial winner she's
24:16
like how do we tie that interview with
24:19
modern a more around well-rounded
24:22
education other than just financial
24:24
literacy without discouraging them
24:26
um to want to pursue Financial well I
24:28
listen bottom line is I wish that the
24:31
you know morals and all these other
24:33
things are are our job it's not the
24:36
government's job it's nobody not even
24:37
the teacher's job you know we have our
24:39
own kids we decided to have them one way
24:40
or another the government and you know
24:43
what they got a lot of other stuff to do
24:44
out there they got a lot of people they
24:46
got to answer to so I don't necessarily
24:49
know how you can uh teach all those
24:53
other things there's a lot of really
24:55
brilliant Educators who have dedicated
24:57
their life to this and but I just don't
24:59
know your situation but to start off
25:01
with the fundamentals of finance that is
25:04
that is really that's one of the most
25:07
important things besides nutrition and
25:09
maybe Faith you know and things of that
25:11
nature be a good moral standing person I
25:14
mean I don't want to tell you who I was
25:15
at 16 years old I mean you know the
25:18
young man is growing and I think that I
25:21
think like like any of our children
25:23
they're aliens from like 13 to 20 you
25:26
know they're trying to figure themselves
25:27
out they got a lot of s estrogen
25:29
testosterone a lot of Imaging coming
25:31
towards them so I can't really answer
25:33
those but if he has good uh Financial
25:36
intelligence at least he won't be maybe
25:39
taking an even worse path
25:41
um because of the Temptations of the
25:43
streets the lack of knowledge on how to
25:45
uh you know make money so that's all I
25:47
can say I I don't have answers so no
25:49
that was beautiful man and that was a
25:50
great answer you gave an answer yeah you
25:52
did good man Damon John thank you man I
25:54
want to thank you for coming by y'all
25:55
follow him at the shark Damon get the
25:58
book get the book little Damon learns to
26:01
earn and it's a great great gift for you
26:04
know Chris is not here but it's a great
26:06
spring it is
26:11
you know I think sway I may be able to
26:13
do this audiobook without I think he has
26:15
30 words uh it'll take me an hour okay
26:17
to read them I'm just like sick but I
26:19
think I can do this one without you I'm
26:21
gonna have you being a hype man in the
26:23
back I got you man no Damon is a homie
26:25
there you go all right cool little swag
26:29
a little Damon all right how to treat
26:31
your business partner
26:33
hey Damon love you brother continue
26:36
success bro I love you all my citizens
26:37
thank you all right
26:41
thank you
26:43
