0:19
applause come on man special guest today we celebrating the album Live and Let
0:25
Fly that's out Friday mussolini is here representing East
0:31
Coast right now facts facts we outside money it's an honor to be here man for
0:36
real come on man this man been putting in work for quite some time heather B um
0:42
and something he's different man we'll get into the difference man he sound He's from New You from New York born and
0:49
raised man it's crazy you said like I got that I got love for the West like I'm real influenced by what they do and
0:54
they culture you feel me like my big bro Planet Asia when he first met me he's like "Yo you remind me of like the East
1:00
Coast Snoop Dog is what he told me." I was like "Oh that's crazy." You feel me so how many years ago was that i was like 2 years ago when I first started
1:07
getting like real active with this [ __ ] but you've been at it for how long forever so I've been writing since high
1:13
school and [ __ ] you know what I mean but like it it all just started coming together like these last I would say
1:19
four four like you know four or three years has been coming together in a major way you feel me what made you stick to it because since high school
1:25
from high school to now is a long time what What made you go "Okay I can't let this go i I can't give up." [ __ ] i I had
1:33
tunnel vision from the jump and like it's like I what I bring to the game I feel is special like is unique you feel
1:39
me so I mean you know I just stuck to it the legends started like taking notice to me people I respected that I was once
1:46
a fan of started like showing me love i was like "Yo that [ __ ] just motivated me to keep going." You feel me planet Age
1:52
is on your album right yeah he's on this album that's the big bro man that's one of the the OGs also that took a liking
1:58
to me and just took me kind of under the wing and he been like any door any opportunity um Planet could could
2:04
squeeze me in and give me a look he official that's why I [ __ ] with homie you feel me man I'm going to do this a little different Heather B but go ahead
2:10
jump yeah I was going to ask you i mean a legend is a legend period when you don't want to but what was the most
2:15
surprising when you was like "Oh my gosh wow I just heard from so and so today or shit." I mean the two most biggest I
2:21
would say is like Ninth Wonder and Pete Rockck you feel me like Yeah absolutely yeah like I'm I'm Ninth Wonders artist like you feel me like he found me shout
2:28
out to Knife all the way from North Carolina he found me out here and he just took me under the wing and then the
2:33
the second biggest cosign was like getting to rap with Pete Rock like you I'm a I'm a new cat in this [ __ ] for me
2:40
to have a Pete Rock verse and it was produced by Ninth and he gave me the blessing to um remix Carmel City which
2:45
is like one of Pete Rock's most legendary songs with CL Smooth and [ __ ] so yeah man that [ __ ] was motivational
2:52
congratulations absolutely melini where you get your name from [ __ ] man i mean I used to go by basic the general man
2:59
people was like you too you you like you a fly cat like you you shouldn't call yourself basic so I like I heard
3:05
Mussolini was always in the cut it was always in the back of my head so I was like you know what I mean let me let me snatch that ain't nobody was using it
3:11
and I reinvented myself and ever since I did that everybody now everybody call me Moose to be honest now so yeah everybody
3:18
like "Yo Moose what up Moose?" Like you feel me so Okay but all right what do you know about Mousolini man i know a
3:24
lot man i know a lot man but you know I'm trying to put like a positive spin on it you feel me i'm like I'm doing my
3:29
own thing you feel me i'm You know I know what you're talking about though you feel me well you know rap we we
3:34
sometimes we take on monikers of people who did some horrible things depending on who you ask your names have power
3:41
right so I'm just curious to that one that's all i'm not saying I just like I just kind of really liked
3:47
how it sound you feel me i was like Mussolini I thought it sounded fly you feel me almost like when Pac had Maveli
3:53
he used to be he that was his aka like yo Mac and that was my aka Mousolini back in so I just made it my my thing
4:00
you feel me okay and it just people gravitated to it now it's like you know Moose Dawn my man Moose is here y'all

7:44
being a super citizen that's way in the morning girl speaking of DJ Fresh hey ladies and gentlemen one of the greatest
7:52
creators to come out of Northern California even though he wasn't born there he is there he's from there when
7:59
you look at him he reeks of town business he's teamed up with the
8:04
legendary the Jack of Rest and Power give him a round of applause come on man his litany of artists is so varied
8:12
whether it be from Isaiah Rashad to Raycoin to Larry June to Whiz Khalifa I
8:17
mean the list goes on and currency uh the list goes on and on and on and I I
8:23
just want to say man he's somebody I'm known for trader Truth he's someone I've known for a long time
8:29
and I just want to say Mazy that that I'm just thinking of all the
8:34
different people you work with yeah his brother is my brother DJ Dummy i want to welcome him to the show man give it up
8:41
for the legendary DJ Fresh man thank you man legendary status man thank you for
8:49
those words of power in life man well you done a lot man um what working with
8:55
Yuckmouth and and and different people u with the Tonight Show series you brought a lot of people jay Stalin a lot of Bay
9:01
Area Oh thank you man heather wouldn't have did that thank you got a a lot of Bay Area artists that folks wouldn't
9:07
know otherwise you know you brought them to to the forefront but and what but
9:12
what is your beginnings i mentioned DJ Dummy what talk about that well my beginning started with my pops my pops
9:18
was a DJ okay and um you know he had the Jerry Curl you know back in the day like we all listened to music records my
9:26
family was one of the families that kept all the records you know what I mean and so I got the story of like going down to
9:31
the basement my cousins they were DJing and I would go down there in the basement way past bedtime and I would
9:37
start learning how to DJ i'm 9 years old learning how to DJ i'm I'm uh it's 1991
9:43
at the time uhhuh and that's when my journey began just um learning how to just DJ records and just you know what I
9:50
mean and uh when I turned about 15 I started I started entering uh DJ battles
9:56
in Virginia uh Zulu Nation battles you know what I mean and um I started I started I started winning and I'm so
10:03
young at the time you know what I mean i'm I'm I'm I'm I'm using records to
10:08
make the record speak and I'm talking big [ __ ] you know what I mean to grown men you know what I mean and um that's
10:14
where I started i was just telling Adam Perfect Time Music i was telling him like you know back in the day we didn't
10:21
have YouTube it wasn't no internet so if you weren't there you might have just heard about it or if it wasn't on a VHS
10:27
VHS tape then you know what I mean so I started from that from you know two
10:33
turntables and and a mixer how did that help inform you as a producer see I
10:38
think people who started off as DJs had to dig in the crates find certain music from the 70s or even the late60s learn
10:45
how to sample learn how to sample and key you know all of those all that that
10:51
whole process helped you as a producer yeah absolutely and um yeah because even when I make beats now like I'm always
10:56
trying to like keep the attention of the listener you know what I mean and um you know so just um from that time I moved
11:04
to I transitioned to uh production because like I had placed third best DJ
11:10
in the whole uh United States in the ITF actually out here in New York at the time in International Turntable
11:16
Federation i hosted one of their first events in Hawaii back in the late '9s go
11:22
ahead i'm sorry go ahead yeah yep you know what I mean moose he going to show off other people's
11:29
conversations moose you see what he doing trying to give cont hey hey but but it's all based on
11:36
the true story and inspired by actual events so you know what I mean so uh but that's where I started with with that on
11:42
third in the nation then I went on tour with Nas i did uh Stillmatic with Nas and I also did um God's Son with Nas and
11:50
what happened was I started to know like so when when I wasn't on tour it was
11:56
like "All right what am I going to do now?" You know what I mean so I was working at a uh a clothing store in San
12:02
Jose called Elements Boutique yeah right and um you know I'm just trying to just like figure out how I'm going to get you
12:08
know make some money and when I'm not on tour and then I discovered production cuz I'm hearing samples like "Oh okay
12:14
this is where they got this from this is where they got that from." So I had got a EPS 16 plus you know what I'm saying
12:20
in Sonic um uh the EPS16 is what Rizza used to make 36 Chambers which was the
12:27
first version i had the next one was the EPS-16 Plus and the one after that was called the ASR10 that most people know a
12:33
lot but I had the middle one anyways so I started making my beats and that was around I want to say
12:38
1999 1998 you know what I mean and then I here here come me learning the independent game and pressing up the own
12:45
CDs and pressing up tapes and going to TRC distribution in the bay and city hall distribution in the bay and just
12:51
learning that and selling it out the trunk you know what I mean i'm I'm still in high school at the time mhm you know what I mean and so I got into that's
12:58
when I started like going into production and then yeah I dropped my first production CD like around 2001 it
13:05
was called Searching for Mr green it just had like like like in basic instrumentals on there like pause tape
13:12
style instrumental this is old school right and that's where my journey began maybe six years later I came up with the
13:18
first Tonight Show with Mr fab mr fab give it up for FAB what's on that um
13:25
who else you had on that was Jack on that one jack went on the first Oh the Tonight Show period yeah oh yeah i done
13:30
had everybody on that i got 200 of them you know what I mean i got two I got 200 albums to this day i had 200 albums i
13:37
got over You got 200 albums you done yeah yeah instrumental albums how many
13:42
instrumentals uh maybe like 30 or 40 of those wow yeah yeah yeah yeah so So do
13:48
all of those albums monetize absolutely yeah yeah yeah the long way is a shortcut okay break that down it just
13:56
means that like you know like if you just keep working for it it'll keep working for you over time you know what
14:01
I mean you know that I I was just telling again I was just telling Adam like I remember listening to Sway on the 10:00 bomb you know what I'm saying on
14:08
the 10:00 bomb and y'all need the context for that one y'all know the wake up show the 10:00 bomb was something
14:15
different though that was Monday through Thursday we two hours 10:00 p.m to 12
14:20
midnight and I'm breaking all kind of artists then you remember them days huh moose don't know this man keep talking
14:26
fresh keep talking fresh i told you Moose he was going to keep sliding backies in somebody else conversation
14:32
but the 10:00 bomb was a great show though yeah and I'm just saying like but that look how long ago that was even
14:38
your progression like and you still moving and kicking and just doing every you know what I mean like so the long way is the shortcut like I'm trying to
14:45
do this for the long I'm going to do this for the long haul until I can't breathe no more you know what I mean so
14:51
that's what I mean you're going to like this man dj Fresher is here you've had a chance to work with such an array of
14:57
artists like I mentioned everybody from Whiz Khalifa to Raycoin yeah to Jay Stalin to Jacka to Mazi yeah you know
15:05
it's Mussolini you know it's just the there's not one type of artist do these
15:10
artists who was the first artist to come to you for your production oh uh the first one to come to me for uh
15:20
Man that's I would say I would say Jay Stalin uh-huh yeah me and Jay Stalin uh
15:26
but I will say this though Yuckmouth was the first one and not to discredit nobody but like he was the first one to
15:33
be like man this is my album right here okay you know the whole mixtape the mix the term mixtape back in the day it was
15:40
kind of looked at as like oh we just maybe the artist feel like they wasn't taking it as serious as maybe as they
15:45
main album or whatever i always took it like serious as an album though you know what I'm saying but Yuck was the first
15:51
one to be like "Nah this is my album right here." You know what I mean and so that was that was a big moment too and
15:58
then Messy Marv too and the Messi Marv legendary Messi Marv these are names some folks may not know so you got to
16:04
put context behind the Messy Marv you know Messi Marv would be in the conversation as one of the greatest to
16:09
come out of Northern Cali for sure you know and there a lot of people don't know even know who Messi Marv is let's
16:15
let's talk about like Larry June people starting to find out about Larry June past couple of years but you known about
16:22
him for how long oh man since he was young June yeah you know what I mean but again the long way is the shortcut but
16:28
what was he like then oh he was you know he he's finding his way you know what I mean finding his way and and he he you
16:35
know I'm so proud of I'm so proud of him i'm proud of everybody that's from the soil that's that's doing it you know what I mean but yeah he just his
16:41
progression is just like you know just kept going kept going you know if you from the bay you just going to keep going anyways because ain't nobody
16:48
coming to coming to us like that we got to make a way and then create the lane and then then they come you know what I
16:54
mean so tell me about the first time you played Nas Beats okay
17:00
so my first first beats right oh man um we were I want to say like Las Vegas or
17:07
something this is my And this is my early days too like this is my early days this is me like I know this tour is
17:12
going to end and like let me try to get some beats tonight you know what I'm saying let me try to play up some beats
17:18
so we didn't actually do anything but you know I'll put the headphones on and just him like rocking to my beat like
17:25
that was enough motivation for me to be like man this is crazy this is you know what I'm saying one of the best doing it
17:30
and I'm again I'm like 18 19 years old you feel me i'll be 44 November 2nd you
17:37
know what I'm saying so man wow that just just to hear him nod and and turn
17:43
down even even though he turned down your beats he rocked to it yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah he would he would just be like "Man just keep making them
17:49
just keep making them just keep just keep making them i don't want any but keep making them why you rubbing i'm not
17:56
rubbing it in talk to your man yes it is man it's still a moment." Yeah
18:02
yeah yeah and also too I want to add that uh uh I did um there's a song by uh
18:08
Don Toiver named uh No Pole that just went diamond oh [ __ ] he just came back
18:14
at me yeah see I like how you do it tap him tap him [ __ ] yeah pop your
18:20
collar fix your collo i see how you did that yeah yeah
18:26
when diamond me and Cardo Me and Cardo did that you know what I mean and so Congratulations yeah yeah yeah diamond
18:32
that's the 10 million bro yep yep that's beautiful here here's a note fresh that I picked up that you said you were
18:38
working um at a clothing store while you were trying to figure it out for all the artists that's listening now and
18:45
producers uh would you encourage that because a lot of times people feel like this is all or nothing i'm in this music
18:51
thing but you still have to pay bills and do what you have to do maybe people have kids what would you say to that uh
18:58
yeah do what you got to do and I I was I was DJing in the store though so I was I I like my my last regular job was I was
19:06
I did I did cleaners and I worked at like a sandwich sandwich by like 15 and
19:11
I just never went back one day you know what I'm saying but absolutely like you know do what you got do what you got to
19:17
do you know what I mean do what you got to do and I would say cut out all distractions and strengthen your
19:22
discipline you know what I mean cuz laziness is always right there waiting on us like gravity you know what I mean
19:28
what kind of distractions though would you say for people who are on the come up what they may not we say let go of
19:34
the distractions but we're in a position where people think we made it but when you you're not in a spotlight on the
19:40
come up what would you consider distractions who's jumping there too i would say I would say I would say lead
19:47
the ladies alone if you're a young fella lead the ladies alone i'm not saying don't you know but I'm saying like that
19:52
need to be like number 15 on your list okay you know what I mean of 10 yeah
19:58
yeah make it 15 that need to be the number that need to be last like you got to really like we know we got like what
20:04
what we get back what we put forth so like you really got to have a foot on your foot on the gas and because this is
20:11
a long it take a long time to to achieve to win so women tend to or just dating
20:18
tends to take people out of their course yeah i would I would just Yeah just like man just leave it just leave it alone
20:23
man i mean I'm not saying don't see it don't see them at all but it's like it's guys out there that's like they they just really just like not focused but
20:30
like you know they want these like astronomical success but doing the most minimal effort to get there that's crazy
20:37
moose what would you add to that [ __ ] i say sacrifices man like you got to ask yourself every day how bad you want it
20:44
you feel me like if you don't want it then go you know go go go do something else but if you believe in yourself I
20:49
feel like man you got to go hard you feel me cuz ain't nobody going to believe in you more than you you feel me you got to block out the distractions
20:56
the haters you feel me you got to figure it out you feel me and also so I want to add like in this time in 2025 like I say
21:03
this like if you're not out here winning right or at least going in the direction
21:08
of winning you just don't want to win because all these tools that we have we've never been able to have at all in
21:15
history like we literally have everything in the palm of our hand with the technology and the tools that we have today you know you just got to just
21:22
stay the course stay focused and so if you're not winning you just simply just don't want to win
21:28
man we got DJ Fresh is here mussolini is here michelle's on the line go ahead Michelle what you like to say what up
21:34
Michelle what up i'm here with my girls we love you
21:39
Mussolini thank you thank you thank you what the hell is that they showing love
21:44
sweat oh okay money i appreciate y' money michelle it don't work for you i
21:50
believe in you thank you thank you i appreciate y'all money
21:56
you saying it like you got it yeah she hung up yeah rich man money i said it
22:03
like it's annoying me money like who's asking now like said it like he full
22:08
already you know what I'm saying damn more more money that's what I need to aggravated he going to get it he going
22:15
to get it thank you man thank you Moose man we going to come back and talk more with DJ Fresh town business Oakland
22:21
representation right here man what is it that I said to you you said I said something to you when When was this and
22:26
what's so uh so this was uh like a little bit after the pandemic when in LA
22:32
in LA um and it's funny because Moose said the same thing that I said when it was my first time coming here he was
22:38
just like "Man I can't believe that I'm actually here." And I said that the last time and what you said to me was the
22:43
words of power that you said you said that it ain't crazy it's destiny
22:48
that's what you said to me because I was like man I was like man it's crazy i was like it's it's crazy even even be here
22:54
you know what I mean and you was like it ain't crazy it's destiny you know what I'm saying and you know again that was
23:01
like those those were words of power to me you know what I mean so we I'm really big on words and the words that we cuz
23:07
we all have a fully automatic weapon in called a mouth you know what I mean the words is the bullets yeah you know what
23:12
I'm saying and so like when people share words of power I always like to share words of power with people words to
23:17
build people up you know what I mean and um those words that you said to me like I always think about that like it ain't
23:23
crazy it's destiny like when you doing the work it'll work for you you know what I mean so DJ Fresh Mussolini shave
23:30
45 yeah man i like that last night that's
23:35
off the project live and let fly we got DJ Fresh in here mussolini is in here
23:41
yes sir you know give these guys a round of applause
23:49
live and let fly reminds me of Live and Let Die
23:57
of the James Bond series right um and and then when I look at the cover it is
24:05
definitely influenced by James Bond why is that there's a deeper meaning okay okay okay talk to him first first of all
24:12
I want to give you I want to give you one of the vinyl thank you man you got DJ French oh look like Yeah look at that man boys got vinyl man come on DJ nice
24:19
that's beautiful i got I got turntables me and King Tech keep turntables dj Revolution you know my son right you
24:26
know my crew all right go ahead okay so there's a deeper meaning um so Live and
24:32
Let Okay so uh Coogi Rap and DJ Paul have an album called Live and Let Die
24:37
that's right i was going to get into that too right yes yes and so when me and Moose are making this album I'm like
24:43
"Okay uh that Coogi Rap one of my favorite rappers too." But that particular album Coogi Rap uh and DJ
24:51
Paul Live and Let Die was produced by Sir Jinx who's a West Coast producer
24:56
right ice Cube death certificate all that right and so I'm like "Okay well I'm a West Coast producer he's East
25:02
Coast lyricist let's do that same concept." And when Stella calling it Live and Let Die we going to call it
25:07
Live and Let Fly right cuz he's on some fly [ __ ] you know what I'm saying and so that's how we had came with that and
25:13
then like I was looking at the Living Let Die James Bond cover and it kind of had like the you know the the
25:19
exploitation look but I was like we're going to make eyes kind of be like a black exploitation look and he and Moose's covers are already kind of have
25:25
that look so I was like let's just build on that you know what I mean and so you know we recorded this album on analog
25:31
tape really 2inch reel yeah yeah ampex a stutter okay yeah yep yep all right
25:39
where' you how uh so it start so I'll tell you so so when I did the Tonight
25:44
Show uh so before this album was uh tonight show with uh currency part two and then the encore which I had a
25:51
Mussolini on right and those were the first two albums that I ever recorded on analog tape right and I just like the
25:57
sound and the sonics of it so in San Francisco there's a studio called High Street Studios right and I my guy It's
26:04
on Hide Street huh hyde D y you know what Sway i get it oh yeah not High
26:11
Street that's in the town that's in the town that's like I got it yeah yeah high street man yep and so that's a legendary
26:18
studio like Pac used to do a lot of his music there there a lot of legendary bands recorded there but anyways my guy
26:24
that's there uh his name is Jamon Drew was my cousin and um upstairs there's
26:30
another guy named CVS and he does all the analog he used to do it for like the Beatles so like even when you see him
26:36
like he looked like he's in the Beatles like you know what I mean and so he so I just started sending all the songs to
26:42
him and I just love the sound on analog tape and we also had the album and as well as the spit album master by my guy
26:48
Million-Dollar Snare who mastered Kendrick Lamar's Not Like Us which he just got a Grammy for why is that so
26:54
important all these these intricate details you talking about you know analog uh who mix what you know the
27:02
coalition correlation between Coogi Rap DJ Polo Sir Jinx being a West Coast
27:08
producer you being a West Coast producer you know Moose being an East Coast rapper why is all of that so important
27:15
because I guess it's right here man you know what I'm talking about that destiny that destiny that's that
27:21
destiny they ain't mad at it you know I mean I've been wanting to work with DJ Fresh so it's just it all happened at
27:26
the right time [ __ ] you feel me like I reached out to DJ Fresh years ago when he kind of just dubbed me or some [ __ ]
27:32
like you know what I mean i don't want to say dub but he ain't he a he wasn't with it you feel me and then magically
27:37
like like I'm going to let you say but like two three years later he hit me back up and he's like "It was time Moose
27:43
i see you." You feel me so yeah and it was time it was it wasn't that at all like cuz I unders like I remember when I
27:49
wanted to work with certain artists at the time um you know they just didn't they just couldn't work just because of
27:54
the the timing you know what I'm saying and I always took I never took it like uh no no always meant to me just not
28:02
right now yeah and I'm going to just keep working you didn't take it personal yeah yeah yeah yeah and and so when I
28:07
and so when I saw his when I saw the message cuz I reached out to him this this time around like I heard his album
28:12
with Cook and Soul and I was like "Oh this is dope." And then as I'm as I'm messaging him I see that we had talked
28:19
like years ago you know what I'm saying and I always respected him for not having the energy of like oh you ain't
28:26
want to work with me then like like that's a losers energy you know what I'm saying like everybody got a timeline of
28:32
when things are supposed to happen right and so and that's how we reconnected and
28:37
you know here we are today word living fly man this Friday on platforms you
28:43
feel me it's a breath of fresh air you feel me moose since you've been on the air we've had nothing but ladies call
28:49
you kind of lean into a a fan base that is with women you know and you kind of a cleancut type of guy yeah I make music
28:56
for the ladies too i'm like I love the underground i love getting my bars off but you know I'm a I'm a lifestyle
29:03
rapper you feel me so I give people my everyday lifestyle you know i'm really active and attractive out here you feel
29:09
me i'm really I'm really you know what I mean i'm really mashing and making it happen no 10 toes down you feel me like
29:16
yep hell yeah only active and attractive out here but a lot of folks aren't
29:22
considering that like there's a lot of rappers that's rapping for their homies how important is the female fan base i
29:28
hate going to underground rap shows and being just around bunch of dudes all the time like there's few like there's a
29:35
they're applauding in the room man standing ovation right there there's a few artistices I picked up a lot of game
29:41
from and I noticed how when I go to certain shows there's girls there and I'm like "Yo you It's a lane where you
29:47
can still get your bars off talk your fly [ __ ] and still holl at the girls holl at the females man cuz you can
29:53
never I mean as far as me I can never forget about the females." How important though are women to the hip-hop audience
29:59
it's they're super I feel like they it's getting lost in the sauce with a lot of other [ __ ] that's why I like when when
30:06
Fresh linked with me he was like "Nah we gonna keep this [ __ ] player man." And I feel like me my rhyme style over his
30:12
kind of like melodic West Coast production it just blended perfectly you feel me so you know I like it you got to
30:19
fit the part though too yeah like anybody can't just rap to the you know rap no you have there's a look and the
30:25
attitude and the confidence that goes with that i mean I'm sure a lot of male artists want a female audience but you
30:31
It's a lot that goes into that you have to look a certain way i mean sound a certain way and your confidence got to
30:37
be there even last night we had a listening session in New York City and it was a bunch of females that came out
30:42
to listen to the album and usually at like those kind of events they just like lingering around like everybody kind of
30:49
like when we played the album everybody came together and listened to the whole album man it was a vibe you know what we
30:55
got James from New York City he said he was at the listening party last night what up Jay how you doing man yo what's
31:01
going on in the morning family mussolini and DJ F i was there last night that
31:06
party was lit it was great appreciate y flowers again i just want to give y
31:11
flowers again yo that was this album is fire um y this is a great duo in fact is
31:18
he hot on the album too as well yo I can't wait for y'all to drop this album it needs to be Friday now i know it's
31:23

31:29
was able to even spin at the party for 20 minutes as well that was good too oh you was He DJed the party all right cool
31:34
20 minutes he got 20 minutes he got 20 hey hey listen he got 20 minutes off yeah 20 hey give him up give it up for
31:40
that 20 man come on James what's your DJ name man well [ __ ] i mean I Well I go by
31:46
DJ 007 i have to probably change it but I just always thought of myself as like a smooth DJ with like you know blending
31:53
and you know of course cutting and scratching like smooth stuff and always with the underground hip hop and
31:58
everything i've been doing it for some time i just been like camera shy but after hearing you guys talk and everything and even with Give Me the
32:05
Light from Lonnie yesterday about fear I was going to try and start putting it out there and I'm going try to send the mix to you guys you know one of these
32:11
days send the mix man yo matter of fact hit up Lonnie Light send that mix send it send this weekend all right send it
32:18
over man if it's nice I'll run it all right okay make sure it's nice though all right you'll super citizen over the
32:24
morning um Mazy man how important is Mazy as an artist to the West Coast scene to the
32:30
music scene i ain't even gonna Yeah Mazy i mean I remember so people don't know I did I did uh Okay before he was Mazy his
32:38
name was Lil Tim and so when he transitioned to Mazy um his first album
32:44
as Mazy was the Tonight Show with Mazy yeah and so I did Mazy's first album as Mazy you know what I'm saying and um you
32:50
know just at the time I just was like he's he he's going to be the new king he's going to be one of the new kings s
32:57
uh surging up from you know northern California just California in in general you know what I mean so his progression
33:03
like I'm so proud of him as well you know his truth makes him special like cuz when you listen to music you know
33:09
that's who who's rapping is who who he rapping about he is who he says he is
33:14
you know what I'm saying and um yeah you know he I'm I'm I'm proud of him i'm proud of him the way he's transitioned
33:21
to where he is now and just his his progression from where he started from to now is just is just crazy you know
33:27
what I mean okay cool mussolini you've been waiting for this day man i know you've been waiting for this day man
33:34
let's do it of course it's legendary let's go yes from Washington Heights yes man uptown shout out to the whole Uptown
33:40
New York City man yo if you in the Heights man y'all got a y'all got a new hero right here he been putting it down
33:46
for a second man i appreciate it we got DJ Fresh the one and only Moose Mussolini is in the building man welcome
33:52
to the Valley of the Hyenas let's go baby
33:58
dp uh okay the man using the
34:04
idiots so in the morning listen uh [ __ ] uh yeah on tour bubble baths on the top
34:12
floor players club back on the concourse let the dawn score she came for the encore the guard pure pay me hand in
34:20
hand never compromise the brand watch a player do his dance surfing over avalanche you don't stand a chance we
34:26
working now the catalog perfect no lie I had to level up the fly you still pepper
34:32
dry i'm chilling side she brought a friend just to slide get it right all this ball work got your bra out her
34:39
skirt you call it rhymes is real is a main line made her toes curl private flights out the world brought the
34:46
feeling back ain't no telling what we do with rap portal goats notice with our pens noted could have been a poet till
34:52
I'm pulling up and lotus gave them all money jack Frost yeah I'm golden legendary moments got me feeling like
34:58
I'm next my voice over beats just tend to connect what else me and Fresh we a
35:04
threat what up hey man
35:12
come on i don't like that man 3 in the morning man that was some smooth ass [ __ ] right there man what just happened
35:19
right there man it has to be a whole package you just can't say you for the ladies it's a It's a whole package thing
35:26
coming from Heather B come on i got the coign from Heather you know what it is already she give out two cosigns a year
35:32
bro so you got one don't do that i'm just saying no but Fresh you also
35:38
said something about um that low energy you you spoke about that and uh I think
35:44
that's a distraction as well you know it people can fall into that trap and they don't realize they're surrounding
35:50
themselves with people with low energy oh yeah yeah you know I have a saying that I say uh I say it ain't lonely at
35:56
the top it's peaceful meaning um I don't have don't got nothing to do with money and everything to do with mindset so I
36:02
look at life like climbing a dangerous mountain right figuratively right like living your life every day is like
36:08
climbing a dangerous mountain right mh so once you reach a certain level mindsetwise right I'm not going to do
36:14
anything that's going to have me like going back down this dangerous mountain just so I can climb right back up this dangerous mountain to the level that I'm
36:21
already at right because as you get older it take more energy to get right back to where you once were right so
36:27
yeah low energy is a real thing it's a real thing it's a real thing and and I say that because I think you guys have
36:33
great energy i think this this is a beautiful to see man and congratulations with everything real talk yeah thanks
36:39
for having us man for real for real respect each other and just and just to add on to the energy thing like like I'm
36:45
you know I'm on I'm on the West and he's out here in New York and so it's a three-hour difference so like you know we'll wake up in the like when he wake
36:51
up in the morning we in album mode right and so he at the gym right i'm calling him i hear the clink clink in the
36:57
background like "Oh you at the gym huh?" And I'm like "I'm on my way too." And so like you late you late bro i'm late you
37:02
know what I mean so you know and we you know we so we challenging each other like you know just kind of tapping in with each other on the fitness and all
37:09
that type of stuff too so like cuz it all it's all connected you know you can feel that though for sure yeah and Fresh
37:15
man one thing I like about working with Fresh he gave me concepts he ain't just send me beats and [ __ ] he was like "Yo
37:20
Moose on this beat uh rap about JFK to Lex man some East to West [ __ ] on this
37:26
beat write write about like a double life like girls that live double lives and shit." Or you know what I mean and I
37:31
thought that was dope that [ __ ] added to the you know I mean to the project you feel me word i love it man give it up
37:37
for DJ Fresh Bay Area fighters man much love hey bro you one of those uh
37:44
those unsung heroes from the Bay okay okay you know I I I consider me and tech that too okay man cuz we had put in so
37:51
much work and it was it didn't only up until recently people knew I was from Oakland i feel like that's why I scream
37:56
it so much but our the work we done isn't always acknowledged and that's okay that's not why we did it the work
38:04
you done isn't always acknowledged that's why I wanted to give people example of the array of artists that you
38:09
dealt with over the years and that working on Mazi's first project as Mazy
38:14
working with Jay Stalin who was just a pillar in Northern California jay Stalin
38:20
is the he's the quintessential Northern California artist right look up Northern
38:26
California rapper his face should be right there working with the legendary now Jacka rest in power you know yuck
38:33
mouth all these different people E40 you know all of them manique sneak Larry June come on man
38:41
whiz come on Khalifa Paul Wall oh stop man I mean don't stop but you know what
38:46
I mean all right Moose man congratulations I'm glad we finally got you up brother man I've been I've been
38:52
waiting Sway man I'm like damn I hope Sway tapped in you know how it is as an artist like this this about to just put
38:58
the battery in my back to go even harder harder bro so thank you you feel me absolutely been tapped in homie you know
39:04
just in all in due time it ain't crazy it's destiny yeah yeah yeah yeah come on
39:11
come on man what about those kicks i saw somebody was telling me about those kicks what kicks we We giving away um
39:19
for anybody that pre-orders the album now on iTunes those we got some custommade Air Force ones yeah and um Oh
39:27
those are dope what size are those they they What can I give away the size they
39:33

39:38

39:43
then he fresh got the bay on his side you feel me and um how do you win them but basically you got to pre-order the
39:49
album take a screenshot so we know you pre-order it and um just send it to the email livefly perfecttimemusic.com
39:56

40:02
ladies do that because that's a dope gift for your your man your dude for Father's Day like that's just some fly
40:08
[ __ ] to do yeah yeah drew let's make this a uh IG clip too this part of it so we can put that up
40:13
and lively at perfecttimemusicgroup.com db you got a question yeah real quick
40:20
cuz Fresh um I'm a big fan of your production like I I just started getting back into prod that was a beat that I played for Mousolini to rap over and so
40:26
I was talking to T torch we have a lot of conversations about like getting out of your own way and um with the output
40:32
that you've had you know 200 albums and that sort of thing has there ever been a moment where you had to get out of not
40:38
the distractions is not what I'm referring to but just like get out of the doubt and sort of like overthinking
40:44
the process and just put the music out and just you know get get it out and just you know be done with it let the public have it yeah is there ever been a
40:50
situation where you or even you Mussolini where it was just like "All right I don't know what to do with this I'm just going to put it out and whatever happens happens." Like has
40:55
there ever been a situation like that yeah my motto was everything must go you know what I mean like if I made it I'm going to just throw it against the wall
41:02
and and see if it stick because it ain't going to do nothing sitting in that damn hard drive yeah sometimes people be like
41:07
"Yo Moose you drop a lot." Like it's hard to keep up or catch up to your catalog but I'm like I I'm like all my
41:14
favorite artists that I listen to they drop a lot and I never complain you feel me so I don't like sitting on music cuz I feel like if you a fan you going to
41:20
want to hear that new [ __ ] anyway so I'mma put it out regardless you feel me like yeah moose you make a living off of
41:25
rap yeah man full time is a blessing man i went from from having 9 to5s hustling
41:31
doing all kind of crazy [ __ ] to now I just wake up and write rhymes and you know what I mean call legends like DJ
41:37
Fresh like "Yo I need some beats fresh what up?" So it's it's a blessing bro and I want to I want to speak on that too because I again I'll be 44 this year
41:45
and I started when I was 9 years old and you know I had a lot of ups and downs on
41:50
this journey to where I'm at but you know it took me over 30 years to get to
41:56
where I'm at right and it's right on time you understand that's why I always say the long way is the shortcut like
42:03
dedicating and this is this goes back to the distractions about people trying to get on but you know dedicating 20 to 30
42:11
years towards something that you say you want to live your life for the rest of your life that's not a long time
42:18
you know what I'm saying you going to spend more time wasting time not being consistent you know what I'm saying and
42:24
so you know 30 years later it's right on time you know what I mean there it is
42:29
right on time right on time dj Fresh people should follow him too cuz he does
42:35
a lot of like live streaming tutorials on his like beat making studio stuff like that can I plug that real quick
42:40
