0:52
That's what's up.
0:54
What's up?
0:55
What's up?
0:56
Don't look at me like that. I I know
0:57
that song beef is one of my favorites.
1:00
So,
1:02
request. No, that's okay.
1:05
Now, listen. I got a record out right
1:07
now. This record right here. It's called
1:10
Shoot Your Shot. Okay. So, fellas, y'all
1:12
got to pay attention. All right, ladies.
1:14
This is what you tell them. All right.
1:17
You must really want my attention. And
1:19
if you do the right things, you can get
1:21
it. Somebody that's going to know the
1:23
difference. somebody that's really
1:26
committed. You sure you can't hand on
1:29
me? This right here ain't for the win,
1:33
but you got that energy. What I like
1:41
show your shot what you got to lose.
1:45
Hey, got to lose.
1:48
Shoot.
1:50
[Music]
1:51
Yeah. Yeah.
1:56
got to lose. Hey, so go harder than
2:00
that. Ladies, spin farther than that.
2:04
Can you do that for me? I ain't even got
2:09
to ask yet. You sure you can handle me?
2:13
This right here ain't for the way, but
2:16
you got that energy that I like.
2:24
D. Yeah. Hey,
2:27
what you got to lose, baby? What you got
2:30
to lose?
2:36
What you got to lose? Hey. Yeah. Got to
2:40
lose. Listen y'all. I want y I say shoot
2:43
your shot.
2:45
I said shoot your shot.
2:47
Shoot your shot.
2:48
Hey, shoot your shot.
2:51
I said shoot your shot. Shoot. Shoot
2:54
your shot.
2:56
Hey, y'all with me. Yeah. Yeah.
3:00
You know what I'm saying? They got to
3:01
shoot they shot ladies. Right. Can I
3:03
Right.
3:03
That's a fact.
3:05
Shoot and shoot. Let's go.
3:06
And I'm not talking I'm talking about
3:07
some Steph Curry, LeBron James, Kobe
3:10
Bryant type shoot.
3:12
You know what I'm saying?
3:14
Steph Curry. I got to
3:18
Anyway,
3:19
okay. I'm just a girl. I don't know
3:20
anything about sports. Okay.
3:22
I just know the popular names, that's
3:24
all.
3:24
Okay.
3:26
Steph Curry there, BB. I hate
3:29
you
3:29
know I'm from the town. Don't do that.
3:31
I said I said Kobe.
3:35
Okay, Kobe. God bless you,
3:36
Jordan.
3:37
All right. Okay.
3:38
Okay. All right. All right.
3:39
That's all I'm saying.
3:43
I have an album out right now called
3:44
Villain Origin Story. You flirting swway
3:48
and you know this
3:51
like no it is something in here but it
3:53
just so I'm a little delayed but not
3:55
that delayed. You flirting.
3:59
I like BB. I think she the [ __ ] and you
4:02
listen to her album Villain's Origin
4:04
Story and the way she writes speaks to
4:07
me.
4:09
Well,
4:09
thank you so much.
4:10
Absolutely.
4:11
I appreciate that for real. And
4:13
and that's what the album is about. It's
4:15
about telling a story. You know, I named
4:17
it villig villain origin story because I
4:21
feel like
4:23
everyone has been a villain in someone's
4:24
story,
4:26
right? You talk to one person and you
4:27
say, "How's BB?
4:30
I don't like me."
4:32
Or, "How's BB? Man, she's the greatest."
4:34
Everyone's a villain in someone's story,
4:36
right? It's about the POV. And so, this
4:38
album is my POV of the relationships
4:40
that I've been through, not just
4:42
romantic, but platonic, right? and just
4:44
going through my life and talking about
4:46
how I feel about those things, right?
4:48
Because we always say our truths, right?
4:51
So, it's okay to tell your truth, you
4:53
know? So, I always want to live in
4:54
authenticity. And so, that's why I named
4:56
this villain origin story.
4:59
Yeah.
5:01
So, you want to be the villain in her
5:03
story.
5:04
Hey, man.
5:04
Or you want to be the hero.
5:07
The choice is yours.
5:09
You could get with this. Are you naughty
5:11
or not?
5:11
I just want to be in the story. you
5:13
know.
5:16
Okay. This second record right here,
5:19
this record is called Everything You Do.
5:21
And it's basically, you know, everything
5:23
start off good in the beginning. Right.
5:25
Right.
5:26
Right.
5:27
It's roses and stuff.
5:29
And that's what this record is about.
5:32
It's called Everything You Do. Hey. Hey.
5:34
Hey. Hey. Put your Hey, do come on y
5:39
[Music]
5:43
said it's kind of dangerous baby
5:48
the way that I want you. I'm so open for
5:53
you. This kind of situation
5:58
goes against my rules.
6:01
What should I do when you lit a flame
6:05
inside
6:07
in my body? I can't hide it. Cuz you and
6:13
I have a chemistry,
6:17
a connection feels good to me. And
6:21
feelings never lie. Yeah. It's
6:24
everything you do, baby.
6:27
Yeah. Yeah.
6:29
It's every way you touch me, baby.
6:34
It's every way you kiss me, baby.
6:37
Yeah. It keeps me coming back to you,
6:41
baby.
6:44
Put your arms up. Can we get one more
6:46
dance? Can we get one more shot tonight?
6:50
Can we get one more kiss? Can we get one
6:53
more shot tonight? Can we get one more
6:56
kiss? Can we get one more shot tonight
7:00
before we go? Baby, before we go, come
7:04
share my world. Yeah. Hey, tell me if
7:08
you came with someone. Don't leave here
7:11
with me. No one else. The club lights.
7:16
Come on.
7:20
And I hope you're ready cuz you're a
7:24
little bling shy.
7:27
in my body. I can't hide it.
7:32
You and I have a cheistry.
7:37
A connection. It feels good to me. And
7:41
feelings never lie. What? It's
7:44
everything you do, baby.
7:47
Yeah. Everything. It's every way you
7:49
touch me, babe.
7:52
Everything.
7:54
It's everywhere you kiss me, baby.
7:57
Yeah. Yeah. Keep coming back to you,
8:01
baby.
8:04
It's everywhere you kiss me, baby.
8:08
Yeah. Every way you touch me, baby.
8:12
Hey.
8:14
Everywhere you kiss me, baby.
8:17
Yeah. It keeps me coming back to you,
8:21
baby. Put your ones up. Hey, say what?
8:25
Can we get one more chance? Can we get
8:28
one more shot tonight? Can we get one
8:31
more kiss? Can we get one more shot
8:34
tonight? Hey, can we get one more kiss?
8:37
Can we get one more shot tonight? Let me
8:41
know, baby.
8:43
Let me know. Say, can we get one more
8:46
kiss? Can we get one more kiss tonight?
8:50
Can we get one more kiss? Can we get one
8:53
more shot tonight? Can we get one more
8:56
kiss? What? Can we get one more shot
8:59
tonight?
9:00
Let me know, baby, before we go.
9:08
Yes, ma'am.
9:11
Absolutely.
9:12
Nice.
9:13
You know, I'm trying to leave out, you
9:14
know, I'm just trying to
9:16
Ow.
9:18
like that right there, man. That That's
9:20
You know, I'm trying to dance at the
9:22
club. You know what I'm saying? Get one
9:23
more shot, one more dance, one more
9:24
drink.
9:24
Can we get one more kiss?
9:27
You coming on tour?
9:28
That's right. I'm just, you know,
9:30
auditioning. Wait till y'all go on tour.
9:33
Get motivated. Yo,
9:36
I got um And I got one more record for
9:39
y'all. Nice.
9:41
And I want to leave y'all with this
9:42
record. So
9:48
got you sis.
9:50
I'll tell you did something tonight.
9:52
Heather,
9:52
I showed up. That's a lot.
9:54
I got my back. That's a lot. Is that
9:56
something? That's my sister. She got my
9:58
bag. She was like,
9:59
"Okay, I'm just
10:00
That's what we do,
10:02
right?
10:04
This is called Let It Ring.
10:07
And sometimes you just want to let the
10:09
phone ring. You want to get away from
10:10
negativity, distractions. Period."
10:12
You know, period life. put everything on
10:14
D and D, right? Am I right?
10:15
Yes, you are.
10:16
So, I told him, I said, "Let it ring,
10:20
baby.
10:22
Let it ring. Let it ring.
10:24
Let it ring,
10:26
baby. Baby,
10:30
let it ring.
10:32
I'm not picking up for no one, but I got
10:36
peace right here. Let it ring,
10:39
baby.
10:41
Let the rain fall out.
10:46
I've been floating on my own cloud
10:52
and my energies too red to share around.
10:59
So do not disturb my peace,
11:03
my peace in me. Yeah. See, I don't want
11:08
to be bothered always.
11:12
Don't knock on my door.
11:15
Instead of calling me,
11:20
just say it in a text. Yeah. Let it
11:23
ring.
11:25
Baby, baby,
11:28
let it ring. Let it ring.
11:31
Baby,
11:33
let it ring. Yeah, let it ring.
11:36
I'm not picking up on no one. When I got
11:41
peace right here, let it ring.
11:45
Baby, baby, baby.
11:49
[Music]
11:51
Mercury's in retrograde.
11:54
Maybe I'll just play shard day.
11:57
Pour a little in my cup,
12:00
then I manifest and pray. Do not disturb
12:06
my peace.
12:08
My peace and me
12:12
cuz I don't want to be bothered all way
12:16
down. Don't knock on my door
12:20
instead of calling me. Calling.
12:25
Just say it in a text. Yeah. Let it
12:28
ring,
12:30
baby.
12:31
Let it ring. Let it ring. Let it ring.
12:36
Baby,
12:38
let it ring. Let it ring. I'm not
12:42
picking up for no one.
12:45
I got peace right here. Let it ring.
12:49
Baby, baby.
12:54
I won't answer. Answer right now. I'm
12:58
looking at the phone. What? I won't
13:01
answer. Say, "Let it ring." I'mma let it
13:05
ring. No, I won't answer. Answer right
13:09
now. I'm looking at the phone.
13:14
I won't answer. Why y'all? Cuz I'm a
13:17
Let it rain.
13:21
And that's let it ring.
13:26
Come on. You got to let it ring to
13:29
disappointment, to negativity, to fake
13:32
friends.
13:33
You got to let it ring.
13:34
The bells, let it ring.
13:36
The bells, let it ring.
13:37
That hater, let it ring.
13:38
Let it ring. Be careful.
13:40
Those ops, let it ring. I say, "Let it
13:44
ring." Oh.
13:49
Your ex been calling.
13:51
Let it ring.
13:53
I say your ex been calling.
13:55
Let it ring.
13:57
Oh, and if that builds
14:01
Oh, boy.
14:04
And if that boss is
14:06
Let it rain.
14:07
Worrying you.
14:10
Stressing you out. Won't give you a
14:12
raise.
14:15
Let it rain. Pick up the phone. Heather,
14:19
pick up the phone. Heather,
14:20
I'm turning my phone off.
14:22
BB, you are exceptionally incredible.
14:26
You are the entire package.
14:28
Thank you.
14:29
Plus some.
14:31
Yeah.
14:32
The artistic expression. Fernando. I
14:35
know you recognize when she sings and
14:37
she expresses her lyrics. Did y'all
14:39
follow the story?
14:40
Yes, indeed.
14:41
Every detail is intentional. This is the
14:44
truth right here. BB. I even got a
14:47
question, Tracy.
14:47
Well, I do cuz baby is my new baby girl.
14:51
Hey, that's my homie right there.
14:53
Come out. Come on. Listen,
14:56
no, I really appreciate you and you're
14:58
also so effortlessly sultry. I got to
15:01
put that out there, too. Just the full
15:03
package. And we know um that you
15:07
collaborated with so many people. But I
15:09
also realized through the skill of your
15:10
songwriting, you're collaborating with
15:13
your audience, your listeners, because
15:15
not only does music um soundtrack and
15:18
environment, a vibe, but music can also
15:21
be the catalyst for our own
15:22
conversations. And so in that way, when
15:25
the record stops, the lyrics continue
15:27
through the dialogue we're having with
15:28
our friends.
15:29
Absolutely.
15:30
And I'm I'm wondering with this era
15:32
you're currently in, what are the
15:34
conversations you're hoping your music
15:37
prompts for black women specifically?
15:42
I always tell my friends when I'm
15:44
talking to them, I'm talking to myself,
15:46
right? I'm looking in the mirror and me,
15:49
my lyrics are me looking at myself in
15:51
the mirror, talking to myself in the
15:52
mirror. And so the conversation for them
15:55
is that they are enough,
15:58
that they are loved,
15:59
right? And not just the cliche cuz
16:01
people say, you know, you're enough,
16:03
you're loved, but like you can really
16:05
stand on your own two feet and have a
16:07
voice. And that's why I'm so big on like
16:09
the story of it, your POV, your truth,
16:12
because no one can take that from you.
16:14
You know, life is about perspective.
16:16
It's either the glass half empty, glass
16:18
half full, right? And so even in some of
16:22
my darkest times, some of the times when
16:24
I was like, I don't know how I'm going
16:25
to make it to the studio. I got nothing
16:26
in my tank. Whatever the case may be,
16:28
right? There was me talking to me and
16:31
telling me, hey, you got this. You can
16:33
do this. You are loved. Wait for wait
16:35
for the right person. Don't um have any,
16:38
you know, um have some self-respect and
16:40
all these things and all this self-love.
16:42
Um I have a song called self-care from
16:44
my last album. It's talking about I just
16:45
want to take a day off, have a me day.
16:49
Black women are not allowed to rest.
16:54
And I thought that if I worked harder
16:56
than everyone that I would be rewarded
16:58
with more
17:00
and I was not. And so my conversations
17:03
that I would love that I would hope for
17:05
everyone to leave with especially my my
17:08
women my black women my brown women is
17:12
it's okay to do those things to to talk
17:15
to be optimistic to love to love on
17:17
yourself to take those self-care days to
17:19
custom when you need to to let it ring
17:21
sometimes it's okay to do those things
17:24
you are enough and you are able you are
17:27
someone to be able to stand and do that.
17:29
Amen. Y'all give it up. Standing ovation
17:31
for BB.
17:33
BB. Let's take a picture, guys.
17:36
Y
17:40
greatness.
17:42
Here we
17:49
telling y'all, she already got four of
17:51
them.
17:52
Number five on the way. Give it up for
17:53
BB straight out of Compton.
17:56
B E E D-B. And I hope um just one more
18:00
thing, I am going on tour with Raheem
18:02
Devon. It's the 20 lessons of love tour
18:05
with my my big bro. He is I mean he's
18:08
the R&B king of the DMV. Okay. Yes, he
18:11
is.
18:11
And he's incredible in his own right and
18:12
I'm just so honored to be sharing the
18:14
stage with him on his second leg of his
18:16
North American tour. So if you are in
18:18
those areas during the holidays, please
18:20
come see us.
18:22
Absolutely. Give it up for BB. Come on,
18:24
man.
18:25
Let it rain.
