US, Los Angeles: Santa Clarita Fallen Tree Blocks Roadway.

Los Angeles, United States - August 30, 2026 08/30/2026 01:31 am GMT-0700 SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – A tree fell in the early morning hours Sunday, prompting a police response due to a roadway obstruction in the Newhall area of Santa Clarita. The incident occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m. when motorists reported a tree had fallen into the roadway near Friendly Valley Parkway and Sierra Highway. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies responded and located the tree blocking the westbound lanes of Friendly Valley Parkway. Deputies temporarily blocked a portion of the road while awaiting city workers to respond and clear the tree from the roadway.
