US, Los Angeles: Piru Holser Fire Triggers Evacuations near Lake Piru.

Los Angeles, United States - August 08, 2026 08/08/2026 01:09 pm GMT-0700 Piru – Firefighters battled a fast-moving brush fire near Piru Saturday afternoon, prompting evacuation orders and warnings around Lake Piru in Ventura County. The Holser Fire was first reported shortly after 1 p.m. near Holser Canyon, north of the community of Piru. Firefighters responded to the blaze as flames burned through brush in the rugged terrain. As the fire continued to spread, evacuation orders were issued for Lake Piru, Lake Piru 04, Lake Piru 05, and Lake Piru 06 zones. Evacuation warnings were also issued for Piru 01, Piru 10, Piru 14, and Camino Del Rio 01. The fire is burning in the same general area where the Canyon Fire erupted in August 2025, eventually scorching nearly 5,000 acres along the Ventura-Los Angeles county line. Today’s fire reached 95 acres by 3 p.m. Firefighters remain on scene working to contain Saturday's blaze. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
