Los Angeles, United States - May 11, 2026 05/11/2026 10:45 am GMT-0700 VALENCIA, Calif. – Parkgoers from across Southern California and as far away as the United Kingdom were left waiting outside Six Flags Magic Mountain on Monday morning after a bomb threat prompted a large law enforcement response and delayed the park’s opening. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to Six Flags Magic Mountain shortly before 8 a.m. after authorities received a reported bomb threat targeting the Valencia amusement park. The park was closed at the time of the threat, and deputies began conducting a sweep of the property alongside multiple responding units. The theme park had been scheduled to open at 10:30 a.m., though officials had not confirmed Monday morning whether the park would reopen on time. Visitors gathered outside the entrance awaiting updates, including some guests who had traveled internationally to visit the popular Southern California attraction. In a statement, Six Flags Magic Mountain said: “We are aware of the police activity at the park and are currently monitoring the situation in coordination with local authorities.” Authorities have not released details about the nature of the threat, and no explosives or suspicious devices had been publicly confirmed as of Monday morning. The investigation remains ongoing.
