Firefighters are focused on managing a 34,000-gallon tank containing methyl methacrylate, a volatile, highly flammable chemical at risk of explosion. The incident began on the afternoon of May 21, 2026, when the leak occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. As a precautionary measure, several neighborhoods and residents have been evacuated due to the potential for an explosion. About 10 to 15 employees from the aerospace facility have arrived at the command post to assist with the situation.
