Observers noted that investigators were using K-9 teams, which are believed to include human-remains detection dogs. Unconfirmed reports suggest that authorities may be searching for a deceased individual. However, law enforcement has not publicly confirmed if any human remains have been found, whether the dogs involved are cadaver dogs, or if this search is related to the case of missing Lancaster resident, Ricky Allen Phillips. Ricky Allen Phillips, 61, was reported missing after he was last seen on August 30, 2026, in the 44900 block of 10th Street West in Lancaster. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department had previously issued an at-risk missing-person bulletin, seeking public assistance. Phillips is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, approximately 230 pounds, with black hair and green eyes. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau Missing Persons Detail has been handling the investigation into Phillips' disappearance. They have encouraged anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact their investigators at 323-890-5500. As of now, the connection between the search at 50th Street East and Avenue F and the Phillips case remains unconfirmed.
