Los Angeles, United States - June 13, 2026 06/13/2026 02:09 pm GMT-0700 ACTON, Calif. – A brush fire broke out this afternoon near the intersection of the 14 Freeway and Pear Blossom Highway in Acton, prompting a large response from firefighters and evacuation orders for nearby residents. The fire was first reported at approximately 2:09 p.m. and quickly spread through dry vegetation fueled by warm temperatures and gusty conditions. As of late this afternoon, the fire has burned approximately 190 acres and is reported to be 22% contained. Firefighters from multiple agencies have been working both on the ground and from the air to slow the fire’s progress and protect nearby homes and infrastructure. Winds from the southwest at approximately 20 mph hampered suppression efforts and contributed to the fire’s rapid growth during the incident's initial stages. Officials have since reported that the fire's forward progress has been stopped, marking a significant milestone in containment efforts. Crews remain on scene strengthening containment lines, extinguishing hotspots, and monitoring for any potential flare-ups. Shortly after the fire was reported, evacuation orders were issued for areas threatened by the advancing flames. Residents within the affected zones were instructed to leave immediately, while others nearby were advised to shelter in place and remain alert for changing conditions. Fire crews continue working toward full containment, with resources remaining committed to the incident.
