PALESTINIAN DETAINEE ABU RAID AL-TOUMI SPEAKING TO REPORTER (ArabiDEIR AL-BALAH, GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - JULY 15: Twelve Palestinians detained by Israel in Gaza were released through the Kerem Shalom crossing on Wednesday, July 15, and transferred by the International Committee of the Red Cross to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, where they underwent medical checks before reuniting with their families. Footage showed the released detainees arriving at the hospital, embracing relatives and receiving initial medical examinations. One of the released detainees, Abu Raid al-Toumi, said he had "seen death" inside Israeli prisons and described what he said were severe humanitarian conditions during his detention. Al-Toumi said detainees survived on little more than bread and cheese every two or three days and that he still struggled to believe he had been released.
