PALESTINIAN MAN MUHAMMAD ABU JABR SPEAKING (Arabic)DEIR AL-BALAH, GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE - MAY 19, 2026: An Israeli strike destroyed a house belonging to the Abu Shamala family in the Bureij Refugee Camp in the central Gaza Strip on Tuesday, May 19. Thick smoke rose from the area following the explosion, as residents rushed toward the site of the strike. No information has yet been released regarding the casualties. Israel has imposed a crippling blockade on the Gaza Strip since 2007, leaving the territory’s 2.4 million people on the verge of starvation. The Israeli army launched a brutal two-year offensive on Gaza in October 2023, killing more than 72,000 people, injuring over 172,000 and causing massive destruction across the besieged territory.
