Springsteen Slams Trump's ICE Deployments & Renee Good Shooting...
Jan 20, 2026
Bruce Springsteen criticized the Trump administration’s ICE deployments and dedicated a song to Renee Good during a surprise performance in New Jersey.
At Light of Day Winterfest, Springsteen told the crowd, “We are living through incredibly critical times,” adding that the US “is being tested as it has never been.”
“If you stand against heavily armed mass federal troops invading an American city using Gestapo tactics against our fellow citizens, if you believe you don’t deserve to be murdered for exercising your American right to protest, then send a message to this president,” said Springsteen.
He then dedicated his song, ‘The Promised Land,’ to Good, saying, “This one is for you, and the memory of mother of three and American citizen Renee Good.”
Good was fatally shot in Minneapolis by ICE agent Jonathan Ross after she drove toward him during an ICE protest.
The Trump administration has since claimed Good “weaponized her vehicle” against the agent.
