Kimmel Blasts Trump After Suggestion That Iran Should Bomb LA
Oct 7, 2026
Jimmy Kimmel has criticized Donald Trump after the president suggested Iran could bomb Los Angeles and San Diego while discussing nuclear defense costs.
At a recent Republican rally, Trump said soaring costs were “a small price to pay” for protecting the country, adding, “Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego.”
Kimmel questioned Trump’s comments on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!,’ calling them some “of the craziest, indefensible statements I’ve ever heard even this maniac make.”
He then played clips from conservative media criticizing his own jokes before saying, “If that rhetoric was deranged and dangerous… surely you must be mortified.”
The late-night host continued, “You know what? I’m going to report him to the FCC,” arguing that the hypocrisy of the situation was difficult to ignore.
Kimmel then jokingly suggested Trump’s hatred for California is personal, showing a clip of Governor Gavin Newsom greeting First Lady Melania Trump with a kiss.
“It’s because our governor got farther with his wife than he has in 15 years,” Kimmel quipped, adding, “And she’s been California dreaming ever since.”
