Mark Ruffalo Slams Paramount Over “Antisemitic” Claim

Mark Ruffalo is pushing back against Paramount Skydance after the company accused him of using “antisemitic tropes” while criticizing its proposed $111 billion merger with Warner Bros. Discovery. Ruffalo, a longtime critic of Israel’s military actions in Gaza, shared a video on X highlighting tech giant Oracle’s business ties and technology contracts with Israel. He pointed to Oracle chairman Larry Ellison, whose son, David Ellison, leads Paramount Skydance. Larry Ellison has agreed to provide billions of dollars in personal financing for the acquisition. Ruffalo argued that Oracle’s surveillance and data technology could eventually be tied to major US media outlets, including CNN, HBO and CBS. In response, Paramount said in a statement that it is “troubled when antisemitic tropes are invoked in purported service of a business dispute.” In a statement posted on X, Ruffalo rejected the accusation, calling it “appalling and fundamentally dishonest.”
