Trump: “You’re f***ing crazy” | Tensions rise between the US and Israel over Beirut strikes
Jun 3, 2026
Ali Milani joins Nick Ferrari as reports come in of a fiery phone call between the US President and the Israeli Prime Minister over planned Beirut strikes. According to Axios reports, Trump lashed out at Netanyahu on Monday evening, telling him ‘you’d be in prison if it weren’t for me’. After the call, Netanyahu took to X to confirm that Israel will attack terror targets in Beirut, contradicting Trump’s statement saying no troops will go into the area. LBC callers share their thoughts on the rising tensions between US and Israel. I'm sure it would make for a really entertaining watch if it wasn't so serious and affecting all of our lives
0:05
I think what Donald Trump has realised here is that he doesn't have a partner in Benjamin Netanyahu
0:09
in accomplishing a deal with Iran, and he desperately needs a deal. It's really unpopular in America. It's affecting the economy, oil prices, petrol prices and all
0:20
And he's been desperately trying to reach a deal that saves some face in the States
0:26
Israel, under Benjamin Netanyahu, clearly does not want that deal to happen
0:30
and has been undermining it at multiple stages, most recently in its attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon
0:39
and that's causing significant discomfort. Now, broadly, what I think is interesting is Donald Trump has touched on a point that is true
0:47
and that's Israel's reputation around the world. Here in the UK, we've seen poll after poll suggest that sympathies for Israel
0:52
is lower than it's been in decades. The same is true in America
0:58
And so not least, you know, putting aside to the fact that Donald Trump has been instrumental
1:02
in trying to avoid Benjamin Netanyahu going to prison, both in Israel and the ICC, arrest warrants that are out for him
1:10
It's clear that Israel's reputation across the world is tanking. What do they need to do
1:17
Well, look, what would be helpful is to stop committing war crimes
1:20
whether that's in Lebanon or in Gaza but clearly what everybody wants here
1:27
They would say they're fighting for their existence of course Ali I need to put to you the counter argument
1:31
Sure yeah and look it's about the kind of acts that were committed
1:36
and I think genocide scholars across the world have reached a consensus
1:40
but the key thing here is I think the closure of the Strait of Hormuz
1:45
the economic impacts that's happening that's having around the world Israel behavior in Gaza and the type of offensive that it has conducted is having huge ramifications in the way that the public perceives Israel both here in the UK and America and across the Western world And I think we all would like to see this war come to an end and it reached
2:09
And whether that's, you know, I mean, I put petrol in my car two days ago, I think
2:14
and I came home and cried myself to sleep afterwards. So I think it's in all of our economic interests
2:20
Now, I had you down as an electric vehicle kind of bloke, Ali. I'm not going to lie, or even a bicycle
2:25
I'm a little disappointed in you, man. Nick, I might have just ruined my left-wing PI
2:31
As far as Donald Trump calling Benjamin, that's the way we speak in America
2:37
so it's not really a big deal. I'm sure they still love each other, so I'm not too worried about that
2:41
Well, I've lived and worked in the States. The F-bomb is still pretty big in there. I know someone is an ass doesn't mean a great deal
2:47
but to start saying you're effing nuts, it's a pretty big deal, really, Cliff
2:51
Well, not if you're from New York, which is where Donald Trump is from
2:55
So I beg to differ. All right, sir. I'll take it on advisement. Go ahead
3:00
More importantly, I just wanted to say that I take offence to your last guest
3:08
Go on. Stating that Israel has committed genocide and a bunch of other things
3:12
Well, there are an investigation for that. It is as yet unproven
3:17
But it's not like a wild accusation. I don't happen to think it is because it would be the most unsuccessful genocide ever known to man
3:24
But it is a fair claim to make, I think. Well, I just want to point out that if these people want the deaths of innocent people to stop
3:35
they have to go after Hamas and Hezbollah because they are the ones that use these people as human shields
3:41
They're fighting out of schools, they're fighting out of mosques, etc. And their stated goal is to destroy the state of Israel and kill all the people of Israel
3:52
So if you want to stop having the deaths of innocent people go after Hamas go after Hezbollah wipe them out and Israel won be in there Let me ask you lastly Cliff are you wholly and unreservedly full support of all IDF actions
4:08
or do some of them occasionally give you pause for thought? I mean, as with any major military, there are times when certain soldiers do things that are horrible and wrong
4:23
And that's true with anyone. But in terms of being humane, Israel, the IDF, probably is the most humane army military in the world
4:34
They're the only military that I know of that actually... Well, I mean, I've got to haul you up on that
4:39
because there have been convictions of Israeli snipers shooting children. You can call me. Right. You can call me up on that
4:46
But just one thing. Israel is definitely, the IDF is definitely one of the most humane militaries in the world
4:53
I just can't allow that to go, Cliff. Well, Nick, let me finish my sentence, please, and then you'll see
5:01
Because before Israel goes after someone who is in an apartment building or other type of building
5:08
Nick, please, let me just finish my sentence. Thank you very much
5:13
They drop warnings onto the roof, and people know that those bombs are coming
5:19
and they're told to get out for the most part. There are mistakes. I have let you speak, but we're also talking about the 15 paramedics and rescue workers
5:28
who were murdered by the IDF and then put in a mass grave. So I'm not suggesting, of course, yes, Israel does go to extraordinary lengths to warn about
5:37
Yes, I agree with you. Yes, they do drop leaflets. But to say they're the most humane military, Cliff
5:41
I'm just going to have to politely disagree with you on that sport. The fact that we are still having to listen to people telling us
5:48
that the IDF are the most moral army in the world when they going to bulldoze your homes tell you to leave blow the bridges so you can come back to your homes in southern Lebanon and they a moral army because they tell you
6:03
what they're going to do before they do it. Fantastic. They're marvellous. It's unbelievable
6:08
And I think the other thing is when people say that it's a genocide, it's not a genocide
6:12
does it really matter? It's a slaughter and it's an ethnic cleansing
6:16
and it's a war crime. But it is, one has to say, one has to say, this has been regrettably
6:21
two-way traffic as well. of the crimes. Go on. Go on. No, no, I was just going to say
6:26
and as James O'Brien says consistently, if Netanyahu, the prime minister of that country
6:33
steps foot in this country, he will be arrested. And that's all you need to know, in my opinion
6:38
in my humble opinion. But I think that President Trump, I don't believe it, Nick
6:42
I believe that this is all fake. I think that this is to prevent any more
6:48
of his MAGA base, which is already gone, from Tucker Carlson to Megyn Kelly to Candice Owen
6:57
They're all deserting him in droves because of this. And I think it's to try and make out that he's really, you know
7:03
he's telling Bibi what he needs to do. And I don't believe a word of it. James, thank you
7:07
Sean in Mountfield, what do you take from it? Good morning. Yeah, good morning, Nick, to your listeners
7:12
Back in Norman Island days, the Divinus Blast was a hot bit of activity by the IRA
7:16
in West Balfast, Ballymurphy Estate. when a right formed our RAI Terriers will step out
7:22
and shoot a British soldier and he'll shoot back into the and get away
7:27
the IDF would blow that building up to kill one of the terrorists and kill all the civilians
7:31
you don't agree with a single word that the previous contributor was saying not one bit
7:36
I mean the problem is you've got a rogue Prime Minister Netanyahu and a rogue army now
7:40
fueled by the I have to say I might put that on social media 7-11
7:44
and that fueled these recruits These are not professional soldiers. They're recruited by the state, many of them
7:52
You need good leadership in the field to control them. I think they've gone rogue
