Hi, welcome to day five of the 30 mixed
0:04
media card challenge. It's using all the
0:06
basic craft supplies you've got at home.
0:08
And if you want to find the other
0:10
videos, they'll be on the screen in the
0:11
description below on my channel. But
0:14
today, we're going to be working on this
0:15
card here. So, let's get started.
0:19
I'm using an ordinary card that's 7 in x
0:22
5 in, but you can just use any piece of
0:24
card and fold it in half and you've got
0:27
a card. So to start with, I'm going to
0:30
use an ink pad and just run it around
0:32
the edge just to put a nice little edge
0:34
on. I know card makers will tell you
0:36
there's lots of fancy ways of doing
0:37
this, but we're trying to keep these
0:39
crafts as simple as possible so you
0:40
don't have to buy lots of equipment. Try
0:43
and find things you've got and use
0:46
So that's just given us something a
0:48
little bit special around the edge. And
0:50
then I'm going to put some paper on the
0:52
front. Now I've just found this paper
0:54
that's got really tiny music on it. And
0:58
I've cut two rectangles so that they
1:00
will overlap on the page. It really
1:03
doesn't matter. What this is going to be
1:05
is a background to the fabulous piece of
1:08
lace. So, it's just something that
1:11
complements your lace. And as you can
1:14
see, I'm just gluing it on with an
1:15
ordinary glue stick because most of us
1:17
have one. If you've got a different glue
1:19
lying around, then use that by all
1:21
means. It's about using what you've got.
1:25
And you may put one piece of paper on
1:27
and cover the whole card. And again,
1:30
creative license. You you create this
1:33
card how you want. I'm just giving you
1:36
Because what I'm doing here is using a
1:39
large piece of heavy lace. Now,
1:43
a lot of people may shy away from that
1:45
and think, well, I couldn't use it. It's
1:47
too heavy. So, I'm just going to show
1:49
you how easily you can. You can see it's
1:53
And I'm just going to cut down a piece
1:58
Yeah, I think about there. I may end up
2:01
trimming this, by the way, but let's
2:03
just get uh a piece of lace that we can
2:08
And again, I'm going for a large piece
2:09
that covers the whole card. I could just
2:12
cut one of those little flowers off from
2:14
the side or several of them.
2:17
And I've I've often used fine lace on
2:20
cards, but I wanted to demonstrate that
2:21
you can use a big chunky piece of lace
2:24
if you've got some lying around and
2:26
you've always thought, what can I do
2:27
with that? But I'm not going to glue it
2:29
on with the glue stick. What I'm going
2:32
to use is a PVA based glue. Now, this is
2:34
actually sold as a decopage glue, but
2:37
it's PVA based. And I'm going to put the
2:40
glue on the card and do a good layer of
2:44
it on there so that it really does stick
2:49
So you can see I'm putting it everywhere
2:57
It's just a little bit needs tweaking at
2:59
that top edge, I think, before I stick
3:09
So, it's just needing a little bit of
3:10
flattening down. And I may not have got
3:12
glue under all those edges. No problem.
3:15
Peel it back. Put the glue under. And
3:18
then what you'll see is I'm going to put
3:19
glue all over the lace on the top. So,
3:23
some of this will go through the lace
3:25
and help glue it down. And some of it's
3:28
just sealing it, especially those edges,
3:30
so it won't get caught and it won't get
3:35
You can see I'm just making sure. So,
3:37
this is all about covering it in the
3:39
glue as well as having glue underneath
3:42
your lace and that should mean that it's
3:45
well stuck on. If you're enjoying the
3:48
video, could you give me a thumbs up so
3:50
that it spreads to more people, please?
3:52
Thank you very much. I mean, this series
3:55
is all about all of us being able to
3:57
make cards, even if we're not card
3:58
makers and we don't have lots of
4:00
equipment. So, that now just needs to
4:03
dry and then you can put your greeting
4:05
on. Now, I've got a whole selection of
4:07
free printable greetings. There'll be a
4:08
link on the screen in the description
4:10
below, but you could use any greeting
4:12
you like. Um, perhaps you've got some
4:15
already. And I'm going to stick it on
4:17
using little tiny foam pads just to make
4:20
it 3D. But again, you could just glue it
4:22
straight down to the lace if you prefer.
4:25
You could place it in the middle. You
4:27
could place it at the bottom, the top. I
4:30
think I'm going to put mine off to the
4:33
side just to make a little bit more
4:35
interest. But I hope you'll see it
4:37
really will just finish this card off
4:40
just for you. So, I hope you've enjoyed
4:43
making your card and that you've made
4:45
along with me and look forward to the
4:47
next one which will be on the screen if
