Welcome to day 26 of the 30 days of
0:04
mixed media cards. I hope you've joined
0:06
us for all the others, but if you
0:07
haven't, you can find them on screen
0:08
description below. You know the score.
0:11
Um, today we're going to make this one
0:14
using your crafting supplies. It's
0:16
anything you need to print off. Don't
0:17
worry, you'll be able to get hold of it.
0:19
Anything that I've put on that you
0:20
haven't got, adapt it for your supplies.
0:23
So, let's get started.
0:25
You'll need a piece of card folded in
0:28
half or a card blank if you choose to
0:30
buy those from the craft shop. I'm
0:32
making a card that's 7 in x 5 in 5 in,
0:35
but you can make them any size you like.
0:37
And the first thing I'm doing is taking
0:38
an ink pad and just running it around
0:40
the edge. Now, I know there's lots of
0:42
fancy ways of doing this, but if you've
0:44
got an ink pad, a quick and easy way of
0:47
getting a nice bit of color on the edges
0:49
is just to run the ink pad along it. You
0:51
can get a bit on your hands, so just be
0:54
And that just adds a little bit of
0:56
detail. I think it's quite nice. And
0:59
then the first thing I'm doing is
1:00
putting a piece of lace on the front. So
1:02
it's just a piece of very inexpensive
1:05
lace. Just cut to the size of the front
1:07
approximately. And I'm gluing it on with
1:09
an ordinary glue stick. Can use any glue
1:12
that you've got, but a glue stick
1:13
obviously you'll never see it. And it'll
1:15
hold the lace in place because it's only
1:17
very thin, fine lace. There's no heavy
1:19
weight to it. And it just makes a nice
1:22
little backdrop. And then I'm going to
1:24
take pieces of card and paper left over
1:27
from other projects and stick them on.
1:30
Again, I'm just using the glue stick.
1:33
And this idea of putting a panel on the
1:35
left hand side is quite nice. It's quite
1:37
visually appealing. The eyes like it for
1:39
some reason. So, you'll see it quite
1:42
often in cards. And I'm thinking I'm
1:45
going to have my greeting near the
1:47
bottom. Now, you can get the greetings
1:49
for free. I've got lots of them and
1:51
they're all on a sheet for you to print
1:52
off. So, there's a link on the screen or
1:55
in the description below and you can get
1:57
those free from my website. So, you can
1:59
make the card for any occasion. And you
2:01
can see I've just got another little bit
2:03
of that pink card and I'm putting it
2:05
down at the bottom. So, the biggest
2:08
picture I'm putting at the top right and
2:10
then I'm going to put some diagonally
2:11
down the page. But the pictures I'm
2:14
putting on with little foam pads to give
2:16
a better 3D effect, which I quite often
2:18
do. and it is a nice inexpensive easy
2:21
way to add depth to your cards.
2:26
So, obviously just whatever you've got.
2:29
You can cut things out of magazines and
2:31
just put them on card and use those or
2:34
these are bits and pieces that I've just
2:36
found, you know, in that box that you
2:38
have with lots of bits and pieces of
2:40
paper and card in. If you make many
2:42
cards, you'll know the box. I mean, um,
2:45
and then some sticking them on, some I'm
2:48
going to raise up. Just adds a bit of
2:50
detail. You can see I've tucked it under
2:52
there, which is another great effect you
2:54
can have. So, if you're enjoying this
2:56
video, could you give it a thumbs up so
2:57
it spreads to more people? And can I
2:59
remind you this is just one of 30 in
3:01
this series. So, you know, feel free to
3:04
go and have a look at the others when
3:05
you've made this one. Um, and you can
3:08
see how it's just building up. So, we've
3:10
got the straight on the left hand side
3:12
and then a nice diagonal line from top
3:16
right to bottom left. And it's just
3:18
nice. And then, as I say, just going to
3:23
the greeting near the bottom. It's a
3:26
nice little friend card just to say
3:28
hello, just to let someone know that
3:31
you're thinking about them. Let's get
3:36
And that's all there is to it. So, I
3:38
hope you've enjoyed it and that you're
3:39
making one out of all your bits and
3:41
pieces that you've got left over from
