Hello, this is um from Dulin. Welcome
0:05
back to this piece
0:08
where we
0:10
pause and gently reflect to get deeper
0:15
understanding of who we are, what we
0:18
have and what we can do to make life
0:21
better.
0:23
In this uh series we have been exploring
0:26
a very deep human journey.
0:30
This journey of uh understanding
0:34
ourselves better and it came as a result
0:39
of my work with many people and
0:42
listening closely to their stories,
0:45
their narratives. Uh noticing the
0:48
pattern that seems to appear again and
0:50
again.
0:52
I came to a place of understanding that
0:55
people face, the situations they face
1:00
because of this deep human longing that
1:04
is beneath the struggles that all of us
1:07
face. Each one of us the struggle we may
1:11
encounter be it in our jobs, in our
1:13
academics, in our families, in whichever
1:17
direction comes mostly because of this
1:22
uh longing.
1:25
In our journey together, we have
1:27
explored self- loveve and
1:29
self-compassion,
1:31
which are two essential steps in
1:34
learning to care for ourselves.
1:37
Today we take a deeper step
1:41
into self awareness.
1:46
This is the courage to see yourself
1:48
clearly.
1:50
Self awareness.
1:53
Self-awareness is the courage to notice
1:56
what is happening inside us.
2:00
This will include our thoughts, our
2:04
feelings, our impulses, our patterns.
2:10
For you to become self-aware.
2:14
This practice is not always comfortable.
2:19
It asks us to slow down and observe
2:23
without judgment,
2:26
without criticism, without condemnation.
2:31
Now imagine standing before a mirror.
2:34
Not just a mirror of face but a mirror
2:37
of your mind, your heart, your inner
2:40
life.
2:44
What do you see? Do you notice old
2:46
habits,
2:49
repeating thoughts or patterns that no
2:51
longer serve you? In this process of
2:54
self-awareness,
2:56
you don't want to find faults, but you
2:59
just want to do this honest observation.
3:06
This is where you recognize the truth of
3:09
your inner world so that you can live
3:12
consciously
3:15
rather than maybe living impulsively,
3:17
reacting to situations. Let us take a
3:20
moment.
3:23
Place your right hand on your heart
3:26
area.
3:29
Breathe in slowly. Hold it
3:35
and release. Breathe in slowly again.
3:41
Hold
3:45
and release. Do it at a time.
3:49
Slowly breathe in,
3:54
hold,
3:57
and release. Gently ask yourself these
4:01
questions.
4:04
What am I feeling right now? What story
4:07
am I telling myself? What patterns show
4:10
up again and again in my life?
4:15
Notice what arises. Do not push it away.
4:18
Simply observe through true through true
4:21
self awareness or I can say true
4:23
awareness we begin to understand why we
4:26
respond the way we do to life. Why
4:29
certain situations trigger fear, anger
4:33
or sadness,
4:35
why certain thoughts keep returning.
4:38
Even
4:40
um when Dera Lamas spoke of awareness as
4:45
a first step towards trans
4:47
transformation,
4:49
he reminds us that without seeing
4:52
ourselves clearly, we cannot respond
4:55
wisely.
4:59
You may want to look at it in this way
5:02
that there are some people who
5:05
constantly react to life instead of
5:08
responding to life.
5:11
And until you get deeper within you to
5:15
understand these things about you,
5:19
you may keep reacting to life. And
5:22
understand that when you react to life,
5:26
you fight life. Because life is throwing
5:31
at each one of us
5:34
its beauty,
5:36
its peace and everything it carries.
5:40
When we respond to life, we align
5:44
with what life is bringing.
5:47
Self-awareness
5:49
also bridges the past and the present.
5:54
It allows us to recognize the influence
5:57
of our upbringing,
6:00
our experiences and even the subtle
6:05
expectations of society
6:09
without being defined by them.
6:13
Now let us try this uh simple awareness
6:17
exercise.
6:20
Close your eyes.
6:25
Now steady your body.
6:30
Scan your body slowly from head to toe.
6:35
Notice any tension,
6:37
discomfort,
6:39
or warmth.
6:43
Then shift your attention to your mind.
6:47
Notice your thoughts. Let them come and
6:50
go without judgment. Finally,
6:54
sense your emotions. Name them quietly.
6:58
It can be
7:01
that you are naming it in this way. I
7:05
notice anger.
7:08
I notice sadness.
7:12
I notice joy. This practice repeated
7:15
daily
7:16
strengthens your connection with
7:18
yourself.
7:20
It helps you catch all patterns before
7:23
they control your actions. It allows you
7:27
to respond with choice instead of
7:31
habits. As you are able
7:35
to come back to this uh techniques to
7:39
repeat it,
7:41
you enable yourself
7:45
become calm.
7:49
you are able
7:51
to face to respond to certain situation
7:56
that may happen during your daily
7:59
activities with ease. As we move today
8:03
on this topic on selfawwareness
8:07
again place your hand once again on your
8:10
heart.
8:12
Breathe in. Breathe out.
8:18
Breathe in
8:23
and out. Breathe in again and out. Still
8:27
gently with your eyes closed. Move
8:31
into your heart area.
8:36
Become aware
8:38
of your heartbeats.
8:42
Become aware
8:44
of the structure of your heart.
8:48
See how it is pumping blood
8:55
coming in and going the upper part, the
8:59
lower part.
9:02
See how beautifully the blood is flowing
9:07
through your heart. Gently move to your
9:10
lungs.
9:12
See how your both lungs are functioning.
9:18
See them in perfect shape.
9:22
How the lungs is able to receive
9:26
air. Filter the air
9:30
before actually sending it to your
9:32
entire system. Continue on this
9:35
practice.
9:37
Move
9:39
to your kidney.
9:41
See how it is working
9:44
so well.
9:48
Move to your liver. Just move to your
9:51
nails from your head to your toe. Once
9:54
more, just scan your body
9:59
right now.
10:03
Become aware of your feeling,
10:08
intention, whatever that your body is
10:13
telling you right now.
10:17
Just notice it, observe it. Stay with
10:21
your right hand on your chest.
10:24
Repeat quietly to yourself or aloud if
10:27
it resonates with you. So well,
10:31
I see myself clearly
10:35
and with honesty. I am learning from
10:38
what I notice within me. I respond
10:43
with awareness
10:45
not reaction. Remember selfawwareness
10:49
is a gift you give to yourself. It does
10:52
not make life perfect
10:54
but it gives you the power to live more
10:58
fully, more consciously and with greater
11:02
freedom. Thank you for pausing and
11:05
reflecting with me today.
11:08
Until next time, keep noticing, keep
11:12
observing. Remember that every step
11:15
towards selfawwareness
11:17
is a step towards your own healing.
11:21
I love you.
11:23
Thank you for always keeping this pace
11:26
with me.
11:27
God bless
