US, Phoenix: Scottsdale Shots Fired During Shooting Investigation Leads To SWAT Situation.

Phoenix, United States - May 06, 2026 05/06/2026 02:14 am GMT-0700 SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The Scottsdale Police Department and the Scottsdale Fire Department responded to reports of a gunshot victim near the intersection of Miller Road and Camelback Road just before 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday. At the time of publication, no information was available regarding whether a gunshot victim was located at the scene. Police discovered an extensive crime scene, with multiple shell casings and bullet holes in the front glass windows and doors of the Circle K gas station located at the southwest corner of the intersection. Additional shell casings were found across the street on a pedestrian footpath at the entrance to an apartment complex. Officers also located a vehicle in a nearby shopping plaza parking lot; however, the vehicle's involvement in the shooting has not been confirmed. While officers were investigating the shooting, multiple gunshots were fired in close proximity to the crime scene. Officers were seen sprinting with their guns drawn toward the direction from which the shots originated. Officers were then seen going into a neighborhood just north of the intersection and began to surround the area. The Mesa Police Department's helicopter was dispatched to the location, along with SWAT officers from the Scottsdale Police Department. Several specialized vehicles, including an armored Bearcat, arrived as SWAT officers approached the area where the suspect was last seen. The Mesa Police Department's helicopter was heard issuing commands over a loudspeaker stating, "Put the gun down" to the suspect. At the time of publication, it was unknown if the suspect was apprehended by officers.
