US, Los Angeles: Pomona Overnight 5 Acre Brush Fire.

Los Angeles, United States - July 04, 2026 07/04/2026 12:15 AM GMT-0700 POMONA, Calif. – Multiple 911 calls regarding a brush fire led Pomona police and the Los Angeles County Fire Department to respond early this morning. The initial reports indicated a fire in the hills above the 71 Freeway on Mission Boulevard. Firefighters swiftly received additional alerts about the fire spreading near homes at 1609 Storrs Place and West Philips Drive. The blaze quickly spread into the Phillips Ranch area, close to North Rancho Road and the 71 Freeway. Firefighters managed to contain the fire before it expanded significantly. As of approximately 1:30 AM, the fire covered about 5 acres and was 85% contained. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
