US, Los Angeles: Palms Suspect Shoots Himself While Pursued by LAPD.

Los Angeles, United States - September 24, 2026 09/23/2026 10:42 pm GMT-0700 PALMS, LOS ANGELES, Calif. – LAPD Pacific Division officers responded to reports of a man pointing a gun at passersby this evening. Upon arrival, they identified a suspect and initiated a pursuit. During the chase, the suspect fired a single shot from an unidentified weapon. Authorities established a containment area to enhance the search for the armed individual. Shortly after, officers reported a second shot fired and found the suspect with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head in the 3600 block of Vinton Avenue. A handgun was discovered beside him. The Los Angeles Fire Department transported the suspect to a hospital, and his condition remains unknown.
