Los Angeles, United States - July 01, 2026 07/01/2026 04:00 pm GMT-0700 CASTAIC, Calif. – Firefighters are battling a fast-moving brush fire burning in the Santa Clarita Valley. The Chloe Fire was first reported at approximately 4 p.m. in the hills north of Highway 126, west of San Martinez Grande Canyon Road. The blaze quickly grew, charring nearly 150 acres by early evening. As fire activity intensified, officials upgraded the response to a second alarm shortly after 5:45 p.m., bringing in additional firefighters and resources. Crews remain engaged in an aggressive attack on the fire as of 5:50 p.m. No injuries or structure damage have been reported, and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
