US: Inferno Rages at Backyard's Edge as Fierce Winds Fan Southern California Wildfire.

California, United States - October 16, 2026 A wall of flames from the Norte Fire burned just beyond the edge of a backyard in Orange County on October 16, 2026, as strong winds whipped the trees and sent ash flying. X user Greg filmed the scene from his backyard and shared it that afternoon. In the video, bright orange flames burn along the hillside right behind a line of trees at the property's edge, as thick smoke glowing red and pink fills the sky. Palm trees sway violently over a pool lined with string lights, and the wind roars through the yard. The fire broke out at about 11:30 a.m. near Portico Del Norte in San Clemente and spread into San Juan Capistrano, fueled by dry brush and Santa Ana winds. By the afternoon it had burned 465 acres and was 0% contained, fire officials said. The Orange County Fire Authority said four homes on Via La Mirada in San Juan Capistrano were impacted. Mandatory evacuation orders were issued for parts of both cities.
