US, Los Angeles: San Bernardino Brush Fire.

Los Angeles, United States - October 16, 2026 10/15/2026 11:15 pm GMT-0700 SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The San Bernardino County Fire Department and San Bernardino Police Department received several 911 calls reporting a large brush fire in the hills above the 210 freeway at Little Mountain Drive and W. Edgehill Road in San Bernardino. Incident Command reported that the fire, covering approximately 3 acres, displayed a slow to moderate rate of spread and was confined within existing dozer lines. Due to strong Santa Ana winds, the fire was wind-driven and progressed downhill through light fuels. Law enforcement initiated evacuation warnings for nearby residents as a precautionary measure. Structure defense efforts were focused on the Edgehill Apartments to protect them from potential damage. Firefighters managed to contain the fire to 3 to 5 acres within about an hour after the initial call. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
