Aleppo, Syria - August 10, 2026 Footage shows Kurdish protesters setting fire to a building used by forces aligned with Syria’s interim authorities in Ain al-Arab (Kobani), in the eastern Aleppo countryside, amid renewed tensions between Kurdish forces and Damascus. The incident comes as the return of displaced Kurdish families to Serekaniye (Ras al-Ain) has faced disruption following reported attacks on returnee convoys, despite a Jan. 29 agreement between the Syrian Democratic Forces and Damascus that provided for the return of families and compensation payments.
