VARIOUS OF WHEAT FIELDS IN WEST BANK / FARMERS HARVESTING WHEAT RAMALLAH, WEST BANK, PALESTINE - JUNE 24: Palestinian farmers in the town of Sinjil, north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, are struggling to harvest their wheat crop amid fears of attacks, theft and arson by Israeli settlers. Farmers said repeated settler attacks and restrictions on access to agricultural land forced them to begin harvesting earlier than usual and move crops away from fields as quickly as possible. Activists joined local residents in the harvest effort, saying they were supporting farmers working under extraordinary conditions. Farmers reported changing traditional harvesting methods and transporting wheat to the town center due to concerns that crops could be burned, stolen or destroyed. Residents said they remain determined to continue cultivating their land despite ongoing security concerns and challenges. The occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, has seen a surge in Israeli military operations, including raids, arrests, shootings, and excessive use of force, alongside rising attacks by Israeli occupiers on Palestinians and their property. Attacks by the Israeli army and occupiers have killed at least 1,155 Palestinians, wounded about 11,750, and led to the arrest of nearly 22,000 since October 2023, according to official Palestinian figures.
