Iran - September 05, 2026 Gulf of Oman – Video footage shows the Iranian oil tanker M/T Kylo sinking after being struck by U.S. forces on September 5, 2026. The tanker, also identified as Noxen, was an approximately 274-meter crude carrier flying the Comoros flag. U.S. Central Command said the vessel was unladen when it was struck in multiple critical areas. Thermal and overhead footage shows the tanker listing after impacts, rolling heavily before disappearing beneath the surface. The final frames show a dark oval beneath the water followed by a circular slick. U.S. Central Command said the crew had been directed to abandon the vessel before it sank. The strike came the same day U.S. forces targeted three tankers described as linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
